4 year, $46 million
What a ridiculous waste of money. It's so easy to build a bullpen from within, yet they go out and stupidly spend all that money. Aside from the money, it's insane to give a relief pitcher any more than 2 years.
I like the deal. Cordero is a dominant closer and this immediately makes the Reds bullpen pretty damn good. Cordero, Weathers and Burton are the backend of one pretty good bullpen. Trade Freel and Hatteberg, get another starter and this team is looking leagues better than it did going into last year.

dominant? LOL, where'd you get that idea? nathan is dominant. Papelbon is dominant. Rivera is kinda still dominant. I'd say that's it. They give him elite closer money. Not to mention he lost his slider last year.
But i'm biased, since IMO, you shouldn't spend more than a few million on a reliever. It's so much cheaper and easier to develop them.
he's 32. They'd be much better off, putting that money into their system and developing a reliever.
i'm still not sure where you got the idea that he's dominant. Maybe we have different definitions of the word.
88 k's in 63 innings last year. 45 out of 51 saves. That is pretty damn impressive.
saves mean nothing. K-rod strikes out a lot of guys, and i don't consider him dominant. Cordero's gonna get lit up in cincy and dusty's gonna blow him out.
