An amazing 95 post thread on University of Kentucky's CatsPause.com board on Coach Cal. Some wished they had gotten him and others plain despise him.

losing is a hell of a drug
lol hey guys we are nothing put team of thugs03-lmfao
I wonder if the UK fans are hurting even more now from the Gardner Webb loss now that GW got slapped around by both UConn and OK at the Garden?

You forgot to add that all we do is play street ball

Wow. For one game, we go to an isolation offense with two outstanding scorers against a man defense (and one that didn't seem all that interested in double-teaming,) and suddenly it's "five guys at a pick-up game."

The unwashed masses continue to underestimate the Tigers.
backwoods talk is cheap 03-snooty
$9.95 per month to read crap Kentucky fans make up about Cal? "Cal is shady and would have us on probation". Absolutely nothing to back it up with. What a bunch of morons.
Kentucky fans worried about their coach cheating?

They wrote the book on cheating in basketball.
The whole "Cal is a cheater" thing is getting very old.

16 years as a head coach and he has 0 violations of NCAA rules.
Actually Memphis is the perfect school for Cal for a hundred reason. Why else is he still here after eight years?
Some UK fan sarcastically said, "Oh Calipari has won sooo many tournament games". I'd say 2 elite eights and an NIT title in only his first 7 years is really impressive. When Cal took over this Tiger basketball program it was way down. Look where it is now! Enough said.
They talk about how we won't win a national title, which may be true. But do they think they will win it? NO. Not after losing to Gardner Webb.

Cal also went to Final 4 with UMass. Typical dumba$$ jealous fan.

Remember when Cal first came here. Other school fans would say" he will never stay at a small program like Memphis." There was no mention of him being a cheater.

Now, 7 yrs. later, " He is a cheater. Memphis is the only school who wants him."

F 'em all!
Go Tigers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Guess those slowleaks forgot about that Emery express package that one of their coaching giants sent to a recruit's dad. When that popped open in LA at the package company's hub, their true idnenity became known. Ask Penny about the things Rex Chapman told him that he got from staff and boosters? Sheesh, those guys are IQ points shy of mental disability. I am still wondering why no one ever mentions Jim calhoun in that discussion since his star player also was involved in the gift stuff from the agent who got Camby in trouble. Kentucky is a great place to be a baksetball player and has a long tradition but they should stop the illusion that they are above everyone else. They have a reputation of cheating, as does UCLA in their glory years, and all one has to do is research. After all...Kentucky had a team decimated due to gambling by players in my lifetime. Calling anyone slimy and other stuff is so stupid since they are the guys who invented the "Kentucky handshake", lol.
Hi Strat's
Good answers!
"Kentucky Handshake" lol01-ncaabbs
Thanks Loyal!!!! I grew up in Nashville around many UK fans. I saw first hand what a vile, little man Adolph Rupp was. Cal's language doesn't come close to Rupp. Rupp was a racist of the highest order. I played against Perry Wallace of Pearl who was the first balck player in the $EC. I heard up close things Rupp said to him during a game at Vandy...shameful. They had multiple players gambling and got caught in my lifetime as well as the Emery problem. As much as I admire John Wooden, it is still fact that one of their boosters paid players and lured them from all over the country to UCLA. Memphis has had its share of problems and they are what they are, but the "holier than thou" stuff from a school that needs to look into its own mirror bothers me. The repeated bringing up of UMASS and the Camby stuff when the truth is out there is a complete load of craap. The NCAA website has the answers. And I still get perplexed at why UCONN doesn't get brought up in that conversation since Calhoun had his best player take gifts from the same guy that Camby did. Of course, these critics never bother to read the truth since it is easier to just type innuendo then look up the truth. Gillespie is a bright young coach and will win games at Kentucky. Hell, one of my guitars could sit on the bench and win games there. It is just their fans(pardon me Ashley Judd)that full of crap.

You don't understand. He just hasn't been caught yet. Cal will have us on probation in no time. lol
I don't understand why Cal would have UK on probation when he has not had Memphis or U Mass on probation? The only problem was with Camby taking money from an agent without Cals knowledge or approval. Again, it proves a point, posters on basketball message boards know little about basketball. These are just confused fans trying to make sense out of a program that has fallen upon sad times. There will be more sad times this year for UK, so they better get used to it.
What a wonderful time to be a Tiger!

Did any of us ever think that Kentucky fans would be envious of where our basketball program is?

Let's face it. Most of their negatives against Cal are stuff they made up, and most of their fans would love to have their team ranked #3 in the country and sitting where our team is.

It's a case of "coach envy", pure and simple.
Didn't weat beat the crap out of Kentucky last year? 80-63 Tigers. I don't really think that they could talk about our coaching and playing ability too much after taking a beating like that. Believe me, they all wish that they could have stolen Cal from Memphis. Jealousy is a helluva thing....

Didn't you read the dribble from the UK posters? It is because UK is discrminated against and everything is under a microscope. Haha, that is really laughable isn't it? Cal is clean and recruits his a$$ off, and schools like Kentucky can not stand it. Truth is, they are a football school now, and their basketball program and history are going right down the tubes. Been a while since 1997-98 season...and it will be a long time before they win an NC again.

That isn't it. He is here and not at KY. The NCAA for no reason at all picks on them and has them under the microscope. 2 minutes after he stepped foot on their campus, he would be investigated because it is KY and then probation would start. The only reason that hasn't happened here yet is because we aren't KY.03-shhhh

Not to mention he's won more tournament games than Billy Gillisipie. If they wanted a coach who had an impressive resume' in the NCAA tournament they would've kept Tubby Smith.

I wish opposing coaches only thought this. That would make the wins come soooo much easier. Too bad opposing coaches know the truth.
We would have been on probation in a month. I hear they got crap on that guy feet deep. They'd use it if it he went to Kentucky.

If you don't think the NCAA is selective as to who they go after you are crazy. This isn't some ethical group of Franciscan monks. It's a political, biased group of "investigators" who have their minds made up when they show up. Kind of like Harry Potter's Death Eaters. Supposed to be neutral, but not really.

Wow, this guy must be one of those guys living in Utah that think everything is a conspiracy and the government is after them! I wonder if they ever stop and listen to what they tell each other. Incredible stupidity, but very entertaining.03-lmfao

The scary part is that some of those clowns live here!

The same could be said of Fat Phil and Sweathog.
...as you call him "fat" Phil hasn't been accused of "out slicking" anyone lately 'cept Miss. St, Ark, So Carolina, Vanderbilt and a couple of no names. As for "sweathog".....you ain't seen nothin' yet.....and he don't have to be "slick".....he's just that good!

The new hasn't worn off yet. With Cal, the new only got better.
Kentucky Basketball and Alabama Football couldn't be a better couple right now.

Coaches can't create miracles out of talent questionable players.
