Ok, what's going on...are we back to scoring 55 points a game and hoping the other team has a bad night. Embarrassing to say the least. You might win a few games shooting 33% if you take enough shots but not shooting every 30 seconds down the court. If were not going to be good...let's at least be entertaining.....plus we might get a few more scoring recruits if we are scoring 80 points a game instead of 50-60!!!
I'm trying to kind of ignore that game and see what happens in the next few weeks. if you look at the box score our leading scorere from last year Rod Earls only took one shot and missed that. When your leading scorer throws a goose egg you can lose to anybody. I'm hoping that was a season opening anomaly and things improve from here offensively.

My problem with Earls only getting one shot, is your offense should be set up to where that can't happen and the coach should be telling him to shoot and the other guys to set some screens. Since we don't have any really big time scorers, I can't believe Hampton put two or three guys on him, so I have to presume the whole offense wasn't working. With the type of player Tulsa can recruit, we can't win big time playing Big Ten type basketball, we have to have a controlled running game where we get a number of secondary break shots, you don't have to worry about the defense then.......it sounds like that is what Hampton played against us.....worked didn't it!!!

I get the feeling the Rice fans don't like us very much and I'll bet you the football team has the same emotions next week. It should be a heck of a game for the West Championship even though I think we have better talent, that won't mean a thing!!!!
