Is there a Shelby County or Birmingham chapter of the NAS? If not, would any of yall who are NAS members like to organize one and make up some events throughout the year? Maybe try to help out with fundraising for the university?

Most locals join the chapter related to their degree. Shelby County might work. Jennifer Breland in the NAS office can give you more info if you are interested in starting one up. Below is a link to all of the current chapters.
