From everything I know about Jets and Mets fans, if you're a Met fan you're usually a Jet fan, and vice-versa.

From what I've been told, it has more to do with the location. Long Islanders and Queens guys like the Jets and Mets, Brooklyn and the Bronx are more Yankee/Giants fans.

well kinda. i can tell you that there are a lot of mets fans in or from brooklyn, because of the dodgers.
