The University says we are not smart enough to have throwbacks.

The name Memphis State might confuse somebody - What?

I am at a loss for words. MSU is our past and we cannot change that. We should embrace our great history and celebrate it.

Should we also take down those MSU jerseys that are in the rafters?

Have know fear I think we have a VERY powerful person that will clear this up soon.

We are all TIGERS - MSU or U of M we are TIGERS!

We are "not smart enough" to have throwbacks.

We are "not smart enough" because of our "leadership."

Looking at those throwbacks, I can smell the boatloads of cash they would make. They look great. But of course every good idea around our school has to get shot down.

don't forget no beer at football games. (guess they didn't think that 50% take of concessions after $50K was enough money)

While I can understand the concern of having new products our there with Memphis State when they are still trying to fight the name change in the narrow minds of many people, a product that is clearly labeled as a "throwback" would do very little harm. I may not like the bulk of cartoonish products, but if he is willing to put a quality, accurate product out I think it would be foolish to deny it.

I guess now we have to stop referring to our final four appearances, and distance ourselves from our former Memphis State players.

Those jerseys are far better looking than our current uni's

Since that is not the name of the university anymore, why cant you do them anyway? Are they holding the rights to a name that can not be printed again?

I don't know how you get away with using this board as an advertising forum. Just put your ads in your signature and talk about something/anything else that isn't self-promoting.

Innocent I am only promoting the school and you should be happy coming in 3-2-1.

Bossman may be promoting himself, but he is also promoting our University. I wish we had 10 more folks just like him. Bossman, just keep it BLUE. We need the promotion. Every shirt someone buys and wears is a walking advertisement for our University.

if he intends to use the board solely for advertising (and is allowed to continue), he could at least pony up a donation for the new server. there's an exchange forum for his wares. i can name many people that do a hell of a lot more for the U than try to make money off it. when was the last time harold byrd came here soliciting new checking accounts for the bank of bartlett, that have tiger logos on the checks? he wouldn't dream of it. it would be seen as distasteful and make him look like a fool. bossman has stated several times that this is just a hobby and only to support the U. if that's true, then start selling your "stuff" at cost or donate all proceeds to the TSF. that won't happen because those statements were BS. just put the ads in the proper forum is all i ask.

I was looking forward to a Penny or an Elliott Perry jersey to wear.

I guess I couldn't have expected that the university would let anyone produce a good quality throwback considering it's impossible to get an accurate reproduction of the jerseys the team currently wears. All that you can get is the cheap looking ones at the Tiger Bookstore or the ones that Collisseum makes that are awful.
But, adidas can make accurate replicas for their other schools - Notre Dame, the Volunqueers, Loserville, Wisconsin, etc.

Those are good looking. I think you should sell them on the black market. I would be down for purchasing one.
