just curious....

Losing at the end because the Tigers could not convert a 2-point conversion to send it into OT usually means it was pretty close.
It was close but a sloppy game decided by turnovers. Hell of a 4th quarter tho, the place was going crazy.

Your team got a 100 yard interception that was a 14 point turn around. You tell me?

I think we grew a lot in the 2nd half; how about the Rebels?

then certainly we are on par with LSU & Bama since we lost to them in OT last year....

i guess we're even, right?

My prognosis is - 1) You should keep playing us and 2) at the level you play at - you suck.
Something we can all take comfort in:

If Memphis plays the rest of the season like they played in the 2nd half, they'll win a lot of games this year.

If Ole Miss plays the rest of the season like they played the entire game, they'll lose a lot of games this year.

Ole Miss has won 3 of the last 5 against Memphis and the last three wins by the Rebels have come by a total of 4, 3 and 2 points. No doubt, the University of Mississippi football program is far and away better than little ole Tiger High.

It looked like two high school teams playing.
Bad football.
If you turn the ball over to any team 6 times, you almost ALWAYS get beat.

If you are lowly Memphis and turn the ball over to an $EC team, you should get DRILLED. The fact this was decided with 30 seconds left says a lot about both teams.

We still have a lot of growing to do. We have the parts to make a good team, but we aren't there yet.

They are not good. I only see 4 wins this year, again.

Have I said I HATE losing to him. Man this is tough to take!!!
tigernole79 Wrote:The fact this was decided with 30 seconds left says a lot about both teams.

sure, tiger nole.... a chance to tie with a 2 point conversion = a discion in the last :30.

only in your memphis dream world.... this game was decided on the first two possesions. we were on cruise midway through the 3rd quarter.

does this mean we'll have to endure another post about your program "pulling away from ours" or "watching a 'real footaball program' being built' in Memphis"??
Guys, if I could, I promise you I'd get rid of this idiot and all of the others.

Congrats on your win, you piece of trash. Now get out of here.

I'm proud of our guys. Stupid mistakes gave it away. Our offense outscored their offense 21-10, but that don't mean jack at the end of the day.

IF The correct play stands on the field on the backward pass, and Ole Miss goes up 27-0, would it have been close then?

..... i'm not sure i follow YOUR logic, medicine man.
if cruise control is having your defensive line get their hats handed to them the last 3 quarters of the game, then yes that was cruise control.

Cruise control is handing it off to Ellis and let him pick up 5-7 yards behind the left side of the Mississippi line every play. Oh, wait, he couldn't do that. My bad.

get a clue - a 2 point game with the ball in the offense's hands with 30 seconds to go inside the defense's 20 is a close game at any level...

This guy is really this insecure?

We get it.

When you win it empowers you to believe you can act like an a$$.

The biggest play of the game was clearly the 100 yard TD return.
The stats that turned the game were the turnover ratio. Credit the missippi kids for causing some of them. The Memphis kids cause some in return too. But the extra pointless turnovers and failure to block on the blocked punt gave the game away.

And we get to be entertained by the likes of this insecure troll.

Memphis gave it away. But lost fairly because of it.

I wouldn't say we gave it away - they had their fair share of blown opportunities as well...we did play poorly in spots and made costly mistakes...we could have won the game, but didn't deserve to.

It finally dawned on me why the "Hotty Toddy" cheer is necessary.

Because NOBODY outside of this area cares or honestly even knows who or what Ole Miss is.

Yes, you are Ole Miss. Team of 2/3 of the Mannings. Other than that, who knows anything about you. What have you done?

You have beaten Memphis. BUT, don't you think it is pathetic that you talk about how you dominate us and yet of the last 9 games, only 4 were decided by 10 points or more. And one of those was a victory by Memphis.

Yes, you are Ole Miss. Once again... WHO CARES!?!!!

There was a very long article about the gameday experience at Ole Miss on the front page.
great so you get more publicity on the hottness of your girls rather than your football team. Congrats, you dumb rednecks never realize how bad you guys are do you. Not one tiger fan doesnt understand that we arent really that good right now and we play in a terrible conference. Why cant you spoiled brats realize that you dont have a shot in hell of playing in a bowl game this year which means your season was a waste. The only sport that The Rebs even can compete in in the SEC is baseball. So will you please take a look at reality and realize your football program is not any good and you will always be a joke to the big boys in the SEC.
mphsfan Wrote:Another thing that I enjoy about the Rebels, besides the arrogance. They are so gracious when they win.

The University of Memphis is hardly a blip on the radar of Ole Miss football. The only reason you see the "arrogance" on this board by Rebel fans is because of the arrogant comments made by all you Tiger fans prior to gameday (see "coach zero" thread).

Oh and before referring to anyone as a "redneck", go listen to Tommy West talk for 10 seconds...it's like watching an episode of King of the Hill.
I would say listen to your own coach, but who could understand anything he says enough to compare him to anyone.

The Grove.... great tailgaiting, but I am talking about your TEAM, not the TRADITION. That is where many Ole Miss fans have a problem. Your current team is NOT your tradition.

Oh, and I did catch ESPN on tv. Where Corso picked Memphis to win in an upset and the other guys were "how is that an upset, it is only a 3 point spread". I also caught how they showed Ole Miss commercials for the LSU vs Miss St game. They don't know/CARE which team from Mississippi was getting stomped by LSU enough to worry about airing the right promos.

Look, I somewhat believe what some of your fans are saying. Ole Miss will be an improved team NEXT year. This year, 5 wins at most.

You seem to have confused yourself. You said that no one outside this area knew who Ole Miss was, I replied with the article on the front page of espn.com, you changed the subject. Oh, congrats on the Corso pick by the way, glad that makes you feel good.
ESPN might know about the Grove, but your sports teams are an afterthought. Among the top teams of all time, some still list ARMY or a team from the ivy league, but that doesn't mean that they are a major player in todays sports landscape.

Once again, Grove = Tradition. Some people that look at an article like that think what the heck is a "Grove" and where in the world is Oxford. But then they go back to whatever it is they are doing and don't think about it again.

Yes, you have tradition and Memphis doesn't. Yes, you are in the $EC and have a HUGE advantage over Memphis in money, ability to recruit and potential for success. I am not worried about that. Most people from the Big 12, Big 10/11, ACC, PAC 10 or Big East do not care about Ole Miss in anything, other than maybe baseball.

And if sportswriters, handicappers and sports commentators don't know who you are then you would be FAR more unknown than even I believe is possible.

Bad football does not = cruise control. jeesh you are such an idiot. the noisy ones usually are th dumbest of the lot.
No I actually agree that their team must have been on cruise, which can only explain how they did NOTHING in the second half. Their dominant OL and RB didn't make 100 yards and their great D gave up 500. Yes, they still won, but to think that you turned it on cruise when 16 of your 23 points were GIFTS and even the lone 7 points your offense actually got more than 1 first down on a drive had to be given to you by two penalties.
I freely admit that we played TERRIBLE, but most Ole Miss fans think they "cruised" to a victory. Are you really that bad... I guess your 4 win season will prove that fact!

Opposing SEC fans love "The Grove" because they can come in, mack on you pretty ladies, tailgate in the grove, beat your butt and go home. I dout they would like it too much if you were any good.
Funny how Miss fans consider the game against Missouri as a "close" game. Funny, a 13 point loss is "close", but our game wasn't.

If you want to define cruise=watch Missouri against Miss. That, pal, was a cruise.
