I think that Miami should move it's football games to Dolphin Stadium so that the Florida Marlins can get their new stadium on the Orange Bowl site.
are you an architect or an engineer or something?
The Miami Hurricanes are hurting themselves by playing in the Orange Bowl. It's old and falling apart. Recrutes are turn off by this.
It doesnt seem to stop all the top talent from going to Miami.
Then how com they aren't winning as much as they used too?
Every major college power house has their down years... Miami will be back on top soon...

Have you been to the Orange Bowl? It's in a seedy neighborhood that feels more like Cuba or Puerto Rico than the USA. The Orange Bowl is a dump, but it's a dump with history that Univ. of Miami is used to playing in. What they really should do is build their own 45,000 seat stadium in Coral Gables.
Amen brother! Do they have any land to build on there?
The OB is roughly 7 miles from Miami's main campus, closer for the downtown medical center. Dolphins Stadium, meanwhile, is about 20-30 miles north of campus and the Dolphins have been hesitant about such a ground share, complaining about turf impacts from other uses as it is.
The Orange Bowl has been slated to recieve substantial improvements from the City and County, pending voter approval of a larger parks and rec bond. (Unsure about date/outcome of vote). The design called on a reduction of capacity to roughly 62k but substantial upgrades in amenities. If that falls through there's been talks about the school buying the property and doing what it could on it's own to upgrade it. Problem is the OB really does have some value for it's name recognition, transportation access compared to other campus sites, and the affiliation with the University. While an on campus facility might yield more money, it could also be perceived by some as a downgrade.
The University of Miami is in the final stages of a major fund raising campaign ($1B +), some of which is earmarked for athletic facilities. But the main campus in Coral Gables (SW of Miami) is tightly packed. The only way they're getting larger geographically is by buying out comparably expensive housing, light industrial land and/or the adjacent golf club. If I did the link below correctly, you'll see the google map with the main campus in the lower left and the OB in the upper right corners. Toggle to satellite and you can zoom in on the campus. There's room for growth, but not really the land for a stadium, parking and necessary transportation improvements.

I think moving to Dolphin Stadium will help their attendence issues. They are stand to make $4 million a year by playing home games.
