What you have to remember is at this point they haven't shown every play in the book yet. Thursday night, Friedgen's going to be pulling out some plays on the offense that no one has seen yet.
Hollenbach didn't throw one interception the whole game and we didn't have any fumbles.
Friedgen new very little about MTSU going in he only had one tape and that was the one from FIU, to watch. Instead he had to watch tapes of NCSt's defense b/c the defensive coordinator at MTSU used to be defensive coordinator at NCST or some kind of defense coach or w/e, most of the MTSU's coaching staff this year had spent a signifcant amoutn of coaching in the ACC....
According to mi familia and Steve Suter on the post game show (he's doing terps radio now for postgame for football) the offense looked sharp and once they pull out all their stops they're going to be pretty awesome, they said defense needs some work but hopefully the coaching staff can get those kinks worked out this week.

My prediction is it's going to be a close game like 20-17 or something like that I don't know who will win but I think the game is going to be close. Either way the out come of this game when friedgen has the offense pull out all of their stops or most of them and same with defense hopefully....will be very telling. If we got stomped we're doomed. If it's close we'll have a good season, if we win it'll be an awesome season.

You fail to realize, that Maryland has been playing with very basic boring plays.....in order to stop WVU from scouting them with Friedgen as the Offensive Coordinator and Cosh as their new Defensive Coordinator and all the changes w/the coaching staff. WVU is going to have a tough time preparing for anything short of the basics with Maryland. They didn't need anything to beat those two teams so why put it out there for all to see.

umm Friedgen came right out and said it in Washington Post last week....They kept it simple b/c they could, had they needed the complciated plays to win. WVU has tapes from last season but what you fail to realize is these tapes don't show Friedgen as the Offensive Coordinator or Cosh a the Defensive Coordinator and there you have it ladies and gentleman, the one thing the tapes will not show from last season....

That's from the article about the MTSU game....while it's not Friedgen somehow I think Hollenbach would know what they've been running in practice but not executing in the game

I dont think im a bad fan because I expect to beat MTSU by 30-40 points.
Look at it this way, a couple years ago we beat Temple 45-22 in the second game of the season, the game before we got beat by WVU. Why didnt we use the same strategy of holding back our offense in that game. Or if we did why were able to beat those clowns by 23 points, scoring 45. Temple is/was probably a better team than MTSU. If you ask me the answer is because we suck this year. In the past, even with mediocre teams we still were able to run up the score on crappy teams, this year we dont. I for one dont like it. And you cant tell me that William and Mary or MTSU is any better than Toledo or Temple or the Citadel or any other crappy team we have played over the years.

A Couple of years ago if I remember correctly we didn't make to a bowl game. Obviously that strategy of not holding back didn't work as we lost to WVU in OT, of course then you have to factor in the up to no good loser of a QB we had at the time. But look at it this way 2 seasons ago who was the offensive coordinator, the play caller? It wasn't Friedgen, it was Blackney, different OC, play callers different styles/strategies, and seeing as how Friedgen pretty much could choose where he was an OC given how good he was I think he knows what he's doing. See what bothers me most about you saying MD sucks is you have yet to watch a game, the game hasn't been on tv except tape delay a day or two later but by watching the game you see a lot more than what the score tells you.
I didn't say you were a bad fan b/c you thought we should run up the score against MTSU but why try analyze based on old seasons.
Look at it this way, when you're out on the job do you things the same way as someone else....probably not, just like I don't teach my fourth graders the exact same way the lady across the hall teaches, hers. It doesn't make me a worse teacher or a better teacher. It's just my strategy. If something doesn't work I don't do it again, I go a different route. Friedgen has talent this year....Hollenbach ( don't underestimate his ability), Crummey (hopefully he's fine to play and he should be), Lattimore, Ball, Allen (wow what about that depth), Podlesh, Gaither, Stephon Heyer, Oquendo....you get my point I think we have a pretty nice Offense this year and once they come out of their shell it'll be a sight to see.
Defense on the other hand, they kind of go in to hiding 2nd half, it's like we have the lead so we don't need to work half as hard....Jefferson has even said they need to step it up to the next level, to get WVU's offense.

You're completely missing my point, different coordinators/play callers different styles different methods. Friedgen figures if he can get the W w/out whipping them and stand a chance against WVU then why not go for it. Why whip a team when it doesn't matter as long asyou get a W. And if I remember correctly a good team lost to NIU. Sure they're better than some teams but um weren't we supposed to at least beat them. And last year wasn't the score against Temple 20-7? That's not much of a crushing either.
My brother compared the Terps Offense to the Skins last night saying they didn't look as good as they actually were during preseason but then look at what they did against the Vikings.
Terpy
And please dont compare it to the skins, half the players dont even try in preseason football, and these were real, regular season games for the Terps.
And I understand different coordinators run different schemes but the Fridge still has the last call on the game plan. If its me whipping a team is good if for no other reason than confidence, if you beat your last couple opponents by 30-40 points you are going to be a more confident team going into WVU. Just my opinion.

Go read the Diamondback in one of the articles it states every player I talked to say there's still more to see on offense that Friedgen hasn't let us reveal/use yet. You haven't see anything from us yet....there's more to come.
