If you've watched a movie, TV or gone to a Broadway show in the past 60 years, you've probably seen him. He's been in more than 250 movies, 100 plays and 100 TV shows. He was the quintessential character actor. His obit is
here.
Who would have thought that guy was still alive. I remember him from Bewitched, Beverly Hillbillies, Andy Griffith, I Love Lucy, just about every sitcom I grew up with.
His "I Love Lucy" episodes are supposed to air this weekend on TVLand. I hope so. I love his appearance in the episode where Little Ricky is born. He played the old man in the waiting room who wife just had triplets, giving him 10 daughters. His performance is hilarious.

Correction: I remembered that episode after reading his obit. He had six daughters and told Ricky he was really really hoping for a son.
The nurse comes out and he asks "Is it a boy?" The nurse says no. "Another girl??!!!" He says in dismay.
The nurse says "three of them" and walks away. He walks out of the waiting room shaking his head and muttering "Nine Girls"

Wow. Did you memorize those episodes? I thought the triplets made 10, but nine is no better, IMHO. Either way, I would kill myself.
I remember him best from "It's A Wonderful Life" and his appearances on Petticoat Junction. Like they said in the article, by face, not by name.
