I wouldn't put it past Abrams to be playing a little misdirection...
EDIT: GN, read the comments. If you put together the capital letters in J.J.'s message you get an anagram for "AICN FOUND THAT ***". I'm even more convinced that the Ethan Haas sites are related (there is also an ethanhaaswaswrong.com). But even more connected is www.slusho.jp. Go to that website and read the History section...Cthulhu it is!! (One of the posters pointed out that the vehicles at the production sites for the movie have "Slusho" labels)
