Are there any NCAAbbs members overseas ... particularly in Eastern Europe, Asia, and Oceania?
If not, I will begin banning entire ISPs and entire netblocks from overseas areas that are presenting a spam problem. We're talking about banning 1/3 of the globe and millions of IPs here. So if there are actual members posting overseas .... especially in the above areas ... they need to pipe up lest they be taken out by future bans.
What about space? The military is putting a cisco router in orbit :)
Sarahbelle is with her husband at a military base in Germany.....

Western Europe is safe from such bans. The areas of concern are Eastern Europe, Asia, and Oceania... especially China, Malaysia, Singapore, North Korea, and Hong Kong.

Lay off the crack, GTS. Western Europe can't be safe from a ban yet be an area of concern, can it?

Just leave Latin America open

We have one member who is serving in Iraq if that's one of the places you're concerned about. His ID is TigerManiac.
Fixed my brainfart

If you are having problems with bots registering GTS I highly recommend this hack to phpbb. I help with another website and we were having 4 or 5 spam bots register a day. Not that bad, just a pain in the but to go in and delete them each day. Didn't take long for them to added up either. After applying this edit, we have not had one spam bot registration.
phpBB Spambot fix
1) Too complicated
2) Incompatible with existing mods we have installed.
I think there is a MalayHuskie in Malaysia. Might want to drop him a note

PM me a list of IPs where you're located and I'll make sure they're not effected by any bans. You can get your IP at

GTS -
I don't know if they get a chance to answer to this address or not. There are many bases in South Korea (we used to have 37,000 army troops there, I don't know now), and I would really hate to see them banned. I'm sorry, I don't know their ISPs.
If I have to go back over to the sandbox, I'll e-mail you my ip address. I don't know how many people are on here that are posting from the box, but they are usually posting from MWR facilities. They are located pretty much all over the country, I.e. FOBs, the Green Zone, etc.
I used to be in the 2nd ID.
My understanding is that our troop strength has been radically reduced, but still...
My recommendation is that perhaps on the front page there is a message that says if you are being blocked to the rest of the site, then you can submit a request to the Admins to authorize your specific IP.
Is that possible?
