Wanna answer a question for me? I have this fool on another board saying he was accepted to Duke in grade 7 after making a 13 on the mathematics portion of the ACT.
I KNOW he's ******* lying....just want verification.

Let's put it this way. If you make a 13 on the ACT and somehow still get accepted to UL (which is very unlikely with our admissions policy) you would be forced to take remedial math. The admissions board at Duke probably got a good chuckle out of this kid if he applied to Duke (in the 7th grade lmao) and made a 13 on the math section.
If he made a 13 in math on the ACT and got into Duke, then I should have gotten in to MIT with the score I made in math (28 btw).
Does anyone else find it funny that out of all the duke fans who have ever posted here, the only one who actually went there is Nate freakin Jones. lmfao lmfao lmfao

Probably misinterpreting his results from the Duke Talent Identification Program (TIP). Students get to take standardized tests as 7th graders - you can even go to summer camp at Duke if you do well enough. Maybe that's what he's talking about.

I participated in TIP, but we took the SAT, not the ACT, and yes it was through Dook.

We called it something different, but we also took the SAT and it was 7th and 8th grade. If you made a certain criteria you took math at the local college/university, but you weren't "accepted". You just went there for math or english or which ever subject you excelled.
IIRC you got like a 16 on the ACT just by putting your name on the paper. My buddy got a 19 and we made fun of him for being retarded.

Its a college entrance exam. Its designed to test what you've learned in high school whereas the SAT focuses more on your ability to think. The main difference is that the ACT doesn't have a penalty for guessing and includes a Science Reasoning portion.
