I'm not a video game player, but does not the wii involve like hand movements to control the joystickamathings? So this is like some type of aerobic exercise? lmfao

I guess I'm stereotyping video game junkies (not meant as a slight, I'm a junkie for things too), but wouldn't this console seem to turn off most gamers?

Actually I'd argue NO.
Think of the Wiimote:

as a remote controll like device that has a pointer on your tv screen or if you will its like a mouse cursor for your tv that you aim.
The Wiichuck:

THe item on the righ works as your "analog joy stick" of old.
Used at the same time:

Again depending on the game...
But say on Wii SPorts the Wiimote is used like a Tennis Racket or a Baseball bat... you use the motions you'd use on the real item to make the controller work. Or if you play a FPS game its like "THE GUN".
It makes for more interactive game control.
