I've been through the new Snoop..
He's got some nice beats..but the rhyming on most of the songs isn't all that.
I was really dissapointed in the much hyped "Vato" w/ B Real.
I'll give a more in depth review later on though...

This is a short story Short review
I really like a lot of the beats on this cd but the rapping on here is straight grabage.
What is really dissapointing is Snoop showed us a lot of potential on "Doggystyle" w/ beats and rhymes in bunches + "Deep Cover" around the same time but after that I dare say he has had 1-2 good songs on each cd since then.
IF you took all his best material post-Doggystyle you could make one GREAT CD that I'd actually pay for.
2.25/5 Stars..buyable if a Snoop fan..but if just a rap fan I'd pass unless you need some beats.

some early thoughts on lil scrappy
same 'ol same 'ol
He's got some nice beats and some OK rap skillZ but if I listened to diRRty south aka crunk rap a lot more than I do I wouldn't find him terribly original
Also BOO the poor cover/homage to "Gangster, Gangster" by NWA.

Color me UNimpressed by a large margin for come back cd from one of the better MCs out there based on catalog.
I guess I shoulda figured if the first video has Dale Jr and Danica Patrick.
I can't even find a a song I'd lsiten to over and over again.

i thought "minority report" was awesome and everything else was crap to mediocre.
Have you listened to "hip hop is dead" yet?

Ohh BTW is DJ Premeire still working w/ Guru of their Gangstar fame? I really liked A Daily Operation but found Hard to Earn lacking. Except for "Dwyck".
***************
Heard anything about a new Cypress Hill CD?

nas is the GOAT.
Premo hasn't worked with Guru in years. I'm actually not a big fan of daily operation, but i love moment of truth, it's one of my favorite albums ever.
Nah, no new cypress hill.

Moment of Truth was a fantastic album. The song "work" is on there right? That's the best Gangstarr song by far IMO. Guru's Jazzmattazz ablums were sweet too.

yeah, work is a crazy song. Moment of Truth is when Premo started using orchestral loops in his beats. Actually i think he started on "the sun rises in the east"

Jeru the Damaja? If you like him, you'll dig his protege Afu Ra. Premeir produced his first album. The second one was lackluster, forget the names though.
