Supposedly state of the Art to protect the nuclear facility Russia is building for them. Supposedly, Russia just signed an embargo agreement at the end of last year. I could say something smart ass, "Like maybe George could gaze into his eyes and take back his surface to air missles", but at this point who the f would care. Enough of the blame game. This is a striking development. I can't believe Foxnews wouldn't do a piece on it. They were probably too busy doing an expose' on sexual predators. The important stuff. Well, for all of you who thought Isreal would take out the facility before they could enrich plutonium. That task just got a wee bit harder.

How is this Bush's fault now?
BTW, this isn't a "striking development" it's actually
old "news".
Look at this excerpt from Jane's

Iran launches new surface-to-air missile production
By Alon Ben-David JDW Correspondent
Tel Aviv
Iran launched a mass production line for a new man-portable low- to very-low-altitude surface-to-air missile called the Mithaq-2 on 6 February.
The shoulder-launched Mithaq-2, believed to be a short-range passive infra-red missile developed by the Iranian Defence Ministry's Shahid Kazemi Industrial Complex in Tehran, is an advanced version of the indigenously developed Mithaq-1 air-defence system.
The Iranian army, which operates older Soviet-made SA-7 Strela 2M and SA-14 Strela 3 man-portable air-defence systems, has been seeking to boost its air-defence capabilities as the dispute regarding the nuclear programme escalates. In anticipation of a potential airstrike on its nuclear facilities, the Iranians acquired 29 Russian Tor-M1 (SA-15 Guantlet) self-propelled surface-to-air missile systems in December 2005.
Did you see that this article is almost 1 year old?
Now, it's even more clear that one day you bitch about the deficit due to defense spending, then the next day you bitch that the US isn't doing enough. When in fact, this defense spending is in response to threats that you don't have a clue about until months/years after the fact.
Typical of you, SF and all the other dims who take advantage of their 1st ammendment rights to freely speak nonsense.

Why does every post you make have to have an agenda and multiple cheap shots at other non-essential targets? It makes it tough to have an intelligent discussion with you.
Mach, Have you ever read the Bible. Russia and Iran working togther is a part of end-time prophesy. I fully expected this kind of stuff.
I'm not talking about shoulder fired arms. We are talking about an umbrella of sophiticated anti-aircraft missles. The ones on trucks and in buildings.
Weren't you embarassed by our President when he said he gazed into Putin's eyes. He could tell he was a decent man and he could TRUST him. I'm from the school "In God we Trust, all others we verify". Can you be an impartial judge when it comes to W? To me it's just another glowing example of W's incompetence. The axis of evil speech. The neo con agenda. I'll start another thread with Patrick J. Buchanon. I'm in lock step with his way of thinking.

The axis of evil speech?
You rant about Iran in one post, then bash this speech in another? You are schizophrenic.
Bush was the first to call out Iran and N. Korea, while folks like you, criticized him for it. Now you are pulling your hair out over the very same issues!
Your lack of ability to think in a rational manner is profound. I've encountered other teachers like you. Do you really think it's a coincidence that people like you teach, and then the US lags the world in science and math?

You're article mentioned the same Russian SAM as the one as the Jane's article. Your lack of reasearch and comprehension is showing again.
Russia, pledging to complete the Bushehr reactor, has offered to sell a range reading comprehension of surface-to-air missile systems to protect Iran
You do know that Bush very well could escalate this war into Iran. If we had 500,000 more troops I'm sure we would have been in there by now. This could be his last card to play.
I think the Israelis will take care of this before we ever have to worry about it.

Well,
Iran didn't have them until now and what's worse is we supposedly have an arms embargo against them. Iran is emboldened, N. Korea has nuclear weapons, and Russia is starting a new cold war. All of this thanks to the neo cons

. The country is heading in the wrong direction. We need a total over haul of our foreign policy.

All thanks to the neocons? So, Iran nor N Korea would have nuclear ambitions if it wasn't for "W". Right. You have completely gone over the edge from thinking to parrot.

Prove to me that he ever thought about anything.

You do remember at the start of the war when all they found in Iraq were Russian and French weapons, don't you?
The successful scientists I know use data to support their hypotheses. I guess the others teach.
Once again America is blessed by its relative isolation from troubled areas of the world. Israel and Japan will have something to say about both places long before we have to worry. Furthermore, the US could easily intercept any intercontinental weapon, and respond with overwhelming immediate force. It would be stunningly dumbarse for either to attempt to lob a nuke in this direction. I think what happens after Castro dies in Cuba is of much greater concern to US domestic safety.
