Man, IMO the music scene has been DEAD since THe Game and Evenessence cd's came out a while back.
I gues I need to hit up
http://www.bmgmusic.com and get some more old titles.
Been considering Papa Roach, St Lunaitics, T.I., Too $Short, and maybe some catalog Judas Preist.
Liberace - Classic Album Collection (3 discs) is out tomorrow.
Speaking of rereleases and collections, just looking at some of the lists, it looks like there are a lot of them coming out right now (Ricky Nelson, Echo and the Bunnymen, Aerosmith, Pete Townsend)
As for new releases The Shins (due 1.23) is the beggest one for me at the moment.
I also noticed Mellencamp has a new on out next week if you're into that.
This is traditionally a slow period for music and movie releases, nobody has money or the desire to spend it so soon after Christmas. It wont be until later in the spring when some good new stuff comes out.

They're in the rerelease catagory. I think it was "Classics"

Pitchfork also has Bright Eyes dates
Quote:As previously reported, the new Bright Eyes album Cassadaga is out April 10 and is preceded by the EP Four Winds on March 6. Oberst and co. hit the road in late February.
To hear a new Bright Eyes song, "Endless Entertainment", sign up for Universal Music UK's Bright Eyes mailing list here. Or just click on the link at the bottom of this story.

James Iha was touring as a member of the A Perfect Circle for a while. I have no idea what happened to D'Arcy Wretzky. Apparently that acting thing didn't work out too well. Maybe they can get Melissa Auf De Mar back. That solo thing didn't seem to work out too well for her either.
NEW IKE REILLY ASSASSINATION
We Belong To The Staggering Evening due out May 8!
Now if we can just get Urge Overkill to finish that new album. Frug, good concerts coming up...good records...I need a second job.

The new Deerhoof has leaked and is out there if you know where to look.
Anybody else unimpressed with Clap Your Hands Say Yeah's "Some Loud Thunder?" I thoroughly enjoyed their debut, so it's gonna be hard to top. A few solid tracks; Yankee Go Home, Some Loud Thunder, Goodbye to the mother and cove, Underwater (You and Me), Mama won't you keep those castles in the air and burning, and Five Easy Pieces. Probably too much credit, or not enough. First Listen. Expecting too much perhaps. The first album was a whole lot more fun, seems as though they're experiementing with this album.

By the way, how do you like Ted Leo? I've seen his name around a lot lately and accidently stumbled across his record in the store the other day. I only had a couple minutes to sample it, but what I heard was fantastic.
