I ran across this arguement on another message board I frequent.

I always thought

2D: Height and Width or x and y axis

3D: height ,width, and depth OR x,y,and z axis

4D: Time

I have seen it argued that time is not the 4th diemension and then getting into the "other" dimensions. Someone also sighting Tesslar/Hypercube's.

I am sure someone here can answer.

theres a 5th dimension as well.

time i assumed as a dimension from the day i first encountered the theory.

The 4th Dimension is a dancing banana? OMG

Yeah..I always thought Time was the 4th dimension.

it is.
There's no order, it just depends on what you are talking about. Most people just throw out the dimensions that we cannot perceive and move to time.

Isn't that just a demonstration of drinking alcohol? The more you drink, the more that line seems to multiply. :)

this is the dawning of the age of aquarius..
I was just discussing this in my pre-calculus class. If light hits a square at the right angle then it produces a line as its shadow. When light hits a cube its produces a square as its shadow. As far as a 4 dimensional figure, intuition points toward it being a figure with a 3 dimensional shadow. Impossible to percieve so try reading Flatland. That helped a little bit.
