R.I.P. President Ford.
He did an admirable job of trying to reunite the country following the downfall of Nixon.

Well everybody dies--including you and me. And thank God for that because I sure wouldn't want to stick around here forever.
The one thing I respect about Ford was that he pardoned Nixon. Heck, if Clinton got off for his nonsense, Nixon should of been pardoned. What Nixon did was mild compared to Clinton.
Ford though has always reminded me of a " country club republican" and trying to take the republican party away fromt he right and toward center. Also wasn't he and/or his wife very pro abortion?

Mild compared to Nixon? I didn't realize that getting it on with an intern was worse than breaking into your competitors office trying to dig up dirt on them. I certainly don't condone what Clinton did, but give me a break.

You are wrong on both accounts. Getting it on with an intern is perfectly legal and when your wife looks like Hillary, I actually encourage it. Lying about your relationship with that intern when you are under oath and the President of the United States who swear an oath to uphold and defend the constitution is illegal. The man was disbarred and while he should not of been impeached he did make himself look like a fool and a liar and paid nearly $1million in the process for lying under oath.
Nixon on the other hand never ordered the break in at Watergate. His great folly was covering it up once he discovered it. His enemies list and spying on political opponents was common practice. Hell Kennedy nearly perfected it as he dispatched the IRS, FBI and his brother to deal with his own political enemies. I don't agree with any of them doing it and it was Nixon who was the first POTUS to pay the price for doing it. Essentially the dirty job of coming up with dirt on opponents has shifted from Administrations to political organizations like the RNC, DNC and other special interest groups. So if anything the job of the POTUS has gotten a lot easier when it comes to coming up with dirt on enemies or dragging someone through the mud as they now have cocooned themselves into plausible deniability to these dirty deeds.
End of the day Clinton was a better politician and Nixon was a better Statesman. Neither was a boyscout but what politician who is successful is??

No, just stupid to lie in a court case under oath about sexual harassment when you know you have a personal list of extramarital affairs longer then your Johnson.
I worked with Professional and Executive Banking on K Street in D.C. at the time of this case. Paula Jones attorney was one of my clients. He said he had 12 women prepared to testify in the case against Clinton and Bill and Hillary damn well knew what was coming at them. He is a very intelligent man so he should of just sucked it down and said yes I banged a fat intern. It would of saved him $1million in settlement with Paula Jones and getting disbarred in Arkansas.
There is no shame in banging a fat chick. It happens to most of us if we are drunk or bored enough. In Clinton's case with the govt closed down, taking a run at a fat chick with a pizza probably looked pretty good. It was either that or head up to the White House personal quarters and bang Hillary. I would rather go on the Bataan Death march then do that.

The only president ever to not be elected to office. Given the circumstances I think he did a very good job. It is always a sad day when a former President passes. :(
