The last 3 areas of driver problems for Linux. The first two have gotten alot better, and the third is simply hopeless until the mtp library in linux is more mature.

Speaking specifically to your issue... your Linksys WUSB54G is fairly recent. Kubuntu 6.06 comes with 5 years of support, but consequently doesn't include the most bleeding edge stuff for stability reasons. The driver for that wifi card in 6.06 is the very first beta release. There has since been a few major releases and updates -- so I think Kubuntu 6.10 will "just work" with it.
