Out in Sacramento, Ron Artest probably just breathed a sigh of relief.

[quote]Wild brawl mars end of Nuggets win over Knicks in New York

nah, this isn't a problem at all.
Carmelo is such a bitch. Threw a wild punch and then ran away like a *****.

no wonder he owns his own label.

What are you talking about?
yeah, i didn't explain myself. i'm saying he owns his own rap label, which explains a lot. He's a wanksta, who's trying to fit in. A lot like Larry Johnson.

A wha????
it's a studio gangsta. A guy who tries to act like a homie, but just doesn't live the lifestyle. A guy on espn.com wrote a column about it a week ago. You'll find a lot of athletes like that.

BTW, make sure you see Melo, get a punch in and then run away like a little girl.
BlazerUnit Wrote:How are you going to try and throw a punch, then try to run/step away?

As Riley (from 'The Boondocks') might say: "That was a ***** move, 'Melo."

that was the first thing i said when i saw footage. you wanna fight? ok hit the guy and then run away, and be a ***** like carmelo. Don't want to talk about it? why not? everyone wants to know why you sucker punched a guy and ran like a coward.

i bet in his mind he's thinking, "I got MINE!" yeah well David Stern will get you too. I think he needs to be gone just as long as Ron Artest was after his brawl.

Boehiem, call his ass and talk some f'in sense into him. Jordan, drop your sponsorship and we'll see how good he is.

dumb***
Give me a freakin' break. Melo did what any of us would have done in that situation. Last time I hit a dude, I slapped him and ran like a girl. I'm not about to take a punch.

except you aren't 215 lbs. of muscle. actually, i have no idea if you are.
Yeah something tells me you arent 6'8 and 220 pounds like Melo, he is a bitch. I dont think he should be suspended as long as Artest (after all there is a difference between hitting opponents and hitting fans isnt there?) but he is a bitch.
I'm glad Stern layed the smackdown with fines and suspensions! Melo got a nice swing on that NY player. =(
does anybody really think these punishments will curtail the NBA thuggery? I doubt a player will think about the repercussions the next time he decides to take a swing.

If the Pistons-Pacers brawl didn't put an end to it, then no, this won't either.

lmfao I'm the dude in the orange and aviators in my sig. Try 5'8 and 160, and very, very little muscle. I have to slap, bite, pinch, or pull hair, or burn people with cigarettes to gain advantage, and then run.

umm, no, what'd he say?

i would say his comments are surprising, but i'd be lying. They came down hard on the miami, FIU players and the NHL came down hard on todd bertuzzi. Baseball brawls are like a slap fight.
I think he is talking about the media coverage more than the penalties the league offices are giving out...
Terpy Wrote:I think he is talking about the media coverage more than the penalties the league offices are giving out...

oh well, in that respect i think it has more to do with the fact that more people care about basketball than hockey. especially since brawls in the NBA are pretty rare.
Quote:The league disciplinarian who conducted the investigation, Stu Jackson, is black.

I'd say the above fact takes some of the steam out of Francis' argument. As for the media coverage, keep in mind that basketball is supposed to be a non-contact (for the most part) sport, unlike hockey. I think Francis pulled the race card both quickly and unnecessarily.

As for his comments about Isaiah? Hey, I loved him as a player. He was tough, talented, and fiercely loyal to his teammates. However, he's also got a rep for really pi$$ing people off behind the scenes with his attitude and mouth. There's a reason the Pistons didn't hire him, despite him being one of the greatest players in franchise history. Not suprised that he and Karl have a little feud going.

do you even know why he and karl have a feud? it's because karl and larry brown are big buddies (both UNC guys). The way Isaiah dismissed and blamed larry brown, rubbed the UNC crowd the wrong way.
