Bruce Snyder left Cal to coach at ASU.
Glen Mason would have left in a heartbeat to go to Ohio State from Minnesota.
More interesting to me is that Central Michigan's coach took the job at Cincinnati and is going to coach Cincy in their bowl game vs Western Michigan.
How could we forget: Tuberville went from Ol Miss to Auburn.

You guys could have taken Snyder!
Pitanio went from Kentucky to Lousiville

Different conferences and there was a stop off....
Although they do hate each other, so I guess that counts for something.
What gets me the most is that this is a step back, why would he do this?
chris_young Wrote:What gets me the most is that this is a step back, why would he do this?
Easy... terrible fan support, poor media support... he was not a Boston native or BC grad. He wanted to go to a place that would be easier to win and go to good bowls, and NC State fits that bill.
TOB All-Time Versus Temple, Rutgers, UConn, I-AA Schools, and any non-BCS program other than BYU or Boise State:
38 Wins
5 Losses
(Thanks to PhillyandBCEagles for the research)
TOB All-Time Versus All Other Schools:
37 Wins
39 Losses

They can have him.
Yo Rick....
Do you know what Butch Davis' record is against ECU?
They replace Amato with a perennial choker who LOST to Amato.
Oh how appropriate.

The ACC is very incestual (is that a word *edit*maybe incestuous (sp?)). Where is Mike O'cain these days anyway?
chris_young Wrote:BC's coach is now coach at NC State . . . .

Moving schools in the same conference . . . anyone else heard of someone doing this? I want to know how rare this is. I think of this as a slap in the face.
Tommy Tuberville, from Ole Miss to Auburn.

FTR BC and NCSU are in the same conference and have the same Bowl Tie Ins at this point.

For the record, BC has been screwed 2 years in a row by the bowls associated with the ACC. By going to NC State, a school with better fan support and who travel better, he has a chance to bring his team to a better bowl game affilliated witht he ACC.

that is irrelevent. its like Spurrier goin to FSU, Clemson guy goin to South CArolina-the conference dont matter when it comes to your biggest rival
That kind of stuff happens all the time. A little more in pro sports then in college, but it happens a lot in college too. For the most part rivalries are for the fans, not the coaches/players. Especially in today's culture where coaches change teams so often.

I should have seen this one coming . . . .

No clue. Going forward I will take my chances. I do remember when ECU was a power, but that has been a while.
rickheel Wrote:Must have been back when ECU had a football team worth mentioning.
Where the 'holes going bowling?
Oh...right.
Sorry.
Like I said, going forward I like our chances.
Careful what you wish for. SFLa kicked WVa arse.

It is better to have played and have lost than to have never played at all. ;-)

ECU got some money, national press . . . so not to shabby for a team projected to win one game.
They got an ass whippin,,,,,,,,, thats what they got. lmfao

Just remember,
ECU went to PapaJohns.com Bowl
UNC...Nada
Butch Davis' record against ECU 0-2 (both while he was at Miami). We plan to continue that thrashing in 2007. ;-)

Are you talking something like Avatar/sig stuff or $$$? If it is the latter then no (I never ever ever bet money, way to tight), but for the other, you're on.
Avatar bet. Not sure if/when we play.
