What is the word on this? My man, whom I trust his opinion on rap cds, said this cd is awesome.

I likd about 4-5 songs off their first cd, but hated the rest..waht is the word on their new cd?

any other big rap releases of late?
i'm not a snoop fan. i was kinda interested in the clipse album, but the first 4 or 5 songs i heard, all sucked, so i decided not to listen to the rest. not to mention the neptunes produced the whole album and i can't stand them. As for good albums, Young Jeezy's new album just leaked today and it bangs pretty hard in the whip. So that's good for you. I'd have to say i enjoyed it.

Also, the new Nas album will leak in about a week and so far i'm loving everything i've heard, so we'll see.
What about hte new Ying Yang Twins ( even if you tell me its good I would pass...just wondering what your opinion would be of it) and also saw new Young Jeezy comes out this week. I thought his last effort was decent.

i wouldn't listen to the ying yang twins, even if you paid me. as far as the jeezy album, i enjoyed it. i'm more into lyrical hip hop, so i don't listen to it a lot, but it's pretty damn good. i'd say it's as good as his last one. It's definitely the best southern rap album.

if you want a great new album, Nas' "Hip Hop is Dead" leaked a few days ago and it's awesome. Better than Stillmatic. It comes out the 19th. I like really like the production and of course the lyrics and flow are amazing. I'll post a full review when i'm not so tired. Chris Webber produced a track and it's really chill.
I still cant believe flyingswoosh is the resident hip hop expert...Just doesnt seem right.

Hey Swoosh do you still talk to Nate Jones? Does he like rap too?

Who else would it be ;-)

whaddya mean, 'still talk to him?' i was never a friend of his. he's my sworn enemy.

you're right about the hip hop thing though. i'm a 5'6" white boy who lives in an affluent neighborhood, but the fact is, i like rap. I just can't get into any other kind of music.
Do you dress all thugged out and talk ghetto like the suburb white kids are inclined to do these days?
Terpy Wrote:Do you dress all thugged out and talk ghetto like the suburb white kids are inclined to do these days?

definitely not. i mostly wear JCrew and i have a pair of $200 Persol sunglasses.
I smell a homage to "Pretty Fly for a White Guy" coming lmfao.

*note: I can't say a whole lot but I don't "dress the part" either.
I have no idea what persol is but there is no way in hell I would ever pay 200 bones for some dagone sunglasses.
And for that matter is a $100 pair of jeans from J Crew really any better than the pair I buy for 50 from levis or even gap?

$50 for some Jeans...it about gives me a hear attack to go over $30 for a pair.

Granted I spend all my money on nice electronics.
You're preaching to the choir man, I dont think ive bought a new pair of jeans in atleast a year. lmfao lmfao lmfao I guess it probably depends on where you shop but its tough to find a pair of jeans for under $40 or $50 unless they are on sale or something.

Im sorry for totally hijacking this thread. Yall can go back to talkin bout Snoop's new cd if you want.

lmfao lmfao lmfao lmfao

Well I think my man Swoosh is more into the new school on the rap game and I am more into the old school ( not that I don't like new stuff I am just tired of all the new stuff trying to be gangster and the general lack of variety of the new rap game).
Im kind of in the middle, Old School rap had meaning, when Ice Cube said Today was a good day, it meant something, or atleast it seemed that way. At the same time, I can appreciate today's rap for what it is, mostly just having fun, bitches, blunts, and 40s.

Then if you go back even further, Public Enemy actually had a message. I guess today Kanye has a messsage, but he just comes off as a whining baby.
who says i spend $100 for jeans at jcrew? more like my grandma spends that. Though i actually just bought myself a pair of jeans at the gap and i spent $30. I'm happy about that.

BTW, Persol is an Italian company, and i didn't spend 200. it was a christmas present from my aunt.

Also, you guys would probably like the new Nas album. He doesn't try to be all hard, in fact he hardly curses at all. He pretty much spends the whole album talking about how hip hop is dying and paying homage to all the legends of a decade ago. It's a real heartfelt album, you can hear his pain.
Well, I wasnt necessarily talking about you spending the money, just anyone in general.

But the question stands.

Are your $100 jeans any better than my $50 levis?
Cause if they arent your grandma got duped. lmfao lmfao lmfao

definitely not. that's why i was surprised when i went to gap. the $30 jeans were just as good if not better than the $100 jeans.
