Of course this isn't a shock, everyone knew they were doing it, but this is the first time we've seen full blown evidence of it.
There was a time when this kind of thing would be dealt with swiftly. No anymore though. We'll hand wring over it and complain, but nothing will come of it. Iran will continue to do what they do and we'll continue to just take it.

I thought most of our issues were with the Sunnis. They have been going around killing Shi'ites and such. I understand as a form of retaliation, the Shi'ites started the militias and have started killing Sunnis. Are the Shi'ite militias also attacking our troops?

It's truly terrifying. You tube Iraqi snipers. They pick off our guys from over 1500 meters. They had to have a government sponsored training. The articles I read say they are Shite Hizbollah trained. Now Sunni's are sniping us too, but the really good ones are Tehran trained. How do you win in this scenario? It's time to get out. How do you tell the family of the last guy killed he died for a mistake. If we had any balls we would set up an election to see if the Iraqi's want us there. Supposedly 81% want us out. The day after the vote we start packing. But I suspect we are there under other ambitions. There is too much money for Halliburton and war profiteers to make. It could be a combination of factors. We could be there to make sure oil is still traded in dollars. Google Bretton Woods or Iranian Oil Bourse mump. We very well could be over there to protect that. If oil ever starts being traded in Euro's watch out. A global economic collapse is headed are way.

Maybe a year ago or more, but Iran is predominately Shi'ite, so now that the Shi'ites are in power in Iraq, Iran sees an ally instead of an enemy. Don't be fooled by all those lines on the maps over there, it is (Shi'ite vs Sunni) vs. Jew over there. What a freakin' mess.
