You guys want to put some serious balm on the Middle East. Take Jurasalem out of Isreali hands. Make it an International City. Headquarter the United Nations there. It's a city that belongs to the WORLD! Everyone who belongs to the U.N. has to quarter troops there. This would placate the Muslims because they're holy sites are no longer in Isreali hands. The place belongs to everybody!!!!

Here endeth the lesson. Every U.S dollar we spend to make this happen will be paid back ten fold in savings.

Interesting idea. It would placate some of the Muslims, but not all. Most would still want the infidels out, and they would continue their campaigns of violence. How should the UN respond to bombings and demands that they leave? They will continue. Just because it is out of Jewish hands doesn't mean it is in Muslim hands, and that is what many Muslims want. Many of the nations in the UN are not Muslim.

Seems to me that this would result in the UN vs. the Islamic jihadists, and the pullout from the UN of many Muslim countires once the UN becomes the face of the infidels. Maybe the end of the UN. Maybe this is a result to be desired.

The best part is that it would get the UN out of the US.

So what you propose to do with all the Israelis taken from Jerusalem? Internment camps? Another diaspora? Confiscate their property?

Better question is why did Muslims decide to house their holy shrines in traditional Jewish areas ie,, Mecca, Medina and Jerusalem??
I understand the space rock in Mecca is important to them but Muhammad never mentioned Jerusalem in his tale of flying up to heaven on a half horse, half women to have tea with Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Allah.
It was hundreds of years later that Muslims decided that Jerusalem should be home to a holy shrine. Like most it was designed to drum up that generations version of tourist travel.

I would love to see the U.N. shipped to the Middle East. Then they would have to deal with the problems.

In a trivial pursuit question, the U.N. once considered purchasing the U.S. Virgin Island of St. Croix from the U.S. Govt so they could have a totally independent location to conduct business that they would actually own.
Did not work out which I am thankful for now that I own property down here, otherwise I would probably be dodging IED's while I was on the way to the beach.

I think this is another example of liberal one step thinking. They never seem to look two, three, four steps ahead or to predict reasonable responses and consequences.

So, Mach, let's look a few steps ahead. You have shipped out the Jews,
who knows where, and moved the UN to the country formerly known as Israel. Not every Muslim is happy with this - for one thing, the UN building is now on the site of somebody's grandfather's farm. Car bombs go off in front of the UN. Diplomats are assassinated. The peacekeeping forces are attacked on a regular basis. Mach is the Secretary-General. What do you do now? Let us hear your wisdom. Is this where you "police where neccesary"?

On a field trip today boys. Henry Ford museum. Awesome experience. They'll have it all decorated up in X-Mas gala.

I would be all for turning Jerusalem into a International zone. We could give South Florida...ie, Palm Beach County, Broward County and Miami Dade to form a new Jewish State. Let the Palestinians have the land surrounding Jerusalem even though in 1948 Trans Jordan was also formed as a Palestinian state evidently not good enough.
Everybody is happy except the Jews who would never give up this land.

The Islamic extremist who are all over the Middle East now would have to come up with a brand new excuse for terrorizing the world and trying to drag their own citizens back to a Utopian world of 1400 yrs ago.

You're right, I was imprecise. I meant land that they claim as theirs.

My point, though, is still that they will hate whoever is there if they aren't muslim, and maybe even if they are.

The prophet Muhammad talked nice about Jews and Christians in the early part of the Koran because he was still actively trying to convert them. Once he figured out they were not buying into his delusions, his writings turned sour on them. On his death bed he cursed Jews and it has all been down hill since then.
Muhammad never physically set foot in Jerusalem yet Muslims still continue the lie of laying claim to the land under some Bullchit story that he ascended to Heaven from Jerusalem.
