I wonder how this will play. Webb has been leading in 3 of the last 4 polls. Too bad Corker's staff didn't pull something like this.
I think "beat up" is a little strong term. And the marine in question is a left wing blogger who disrupted a campaign event by yelling at Allen.

You could write headlines for the NY Times Dogger.

...I guess Dogger is saying that Vets are immune to the law. So, as a Vet, I'm untouchable, right Dogger? Decisions, decisions. Shall it be Bank of America or Wachovia I knock off today.
What is an "ex-Marine"?????
SouthGAEagle Wrote:What is an "ex-Marine"?????

Lee Harvey Oswald.
I just looked back and he calls himself a Marine. I stand humbly corrected.

and Reb,,,,,,,,,,,,

Any one of them but the Bank of America........

I have a friend that works there.
I get a campaign worker pretty riled yesterday when I asked "Webb...the pedophile?"

Funny how they can jump all over Foley, yet support Webb.

Allen isn't out of this one, but it's disappointing to see VA throw away their success. Of course for Virginia Democrats, they just rape Ohio and the rest of Middle America for tax dollars to build their suburban paradises.

Keep cheering them on Dogger!

Ok, it works like this.

Fairfax County (and Maryland counties surrounding DC: Montgomery and Prince Georges) has really high taxes, plus I get to pay additional "Home owners association fees" to my "Planned community". (Not my neighborhood, I pay those fees too). These counties are also dominated by Dems in office. From county, to state reps/delegates/senators, to the HOR. You know the senate situation.

Also, these taxes have skyrocketed in the past few years. Despite being flush w/ cash. (See Fairfax County's $46.9M surplus from a couple of years ago.)

But, who lives in these counties? Predominantly, Fed gov't workers, and contracters (hey to "smaller government"). Check it for yourself.

So, if our tax burden is going up, how do we pay for it? Bigger salaries, of course. We need larger raises. This is worked out by the Feg Gov't as a regional adjustment to the federal pay scale, by hiring people at higher scale levels, or paying more for contractors.

But who pays for the these higher wages? Not a company making a profit: It's the Fed Gov't. And they get their money from...

TAXES!

Yup. And YOU pay those taxes.
What are you getting for it?

Well, Reston has alot of nice amenities, and a "Community Center" that had a $1M surplus (aside from the county surplus).
Fairfax County's buildings are lush, sparkling new, referred to as "the palace".
PG County recently spent millions on new tennis courts and other rec facilities.
Etc.

The Dems keep preaching that shining city on a hill story, AND THEY GET IT. But, only by taking your tithes and offerings to build [/i]their[/i] comfortable communities.

You keep believing they care about you...they love it. In fact, the more you suffer, the more they like to tell you that you're suffering, so you'll be inclined to give even more! And of course, that means you suffer more...the cycle continues.

(It reminds me of a sketch on the old "Living Color" TV show: David Allen Grier played an infomercial guy w/ the slogan "Only YOU can make ME rich!")

Meanwhile, as they promise how much they care about you, they ridicule and deride the mores and values of Middle America. (Case in point: Webb the mysognist, pedophile author). Point blank, they HATE Middle America. But, they do like those "rubes" that continue to support them, and they try to keep it that way.

If he is former military he should realize "Wall to Wall" counseling is acceptable for offenses, here's a link to FM 22 - 102 http://www.ncoer.com/wall.htm

To Quote the FM I believe he is guity of a minor offense:

Quote:Minor offenses
Simple infractions can be dealt with quickly by a simple ass-beating. Soldiers appreciate this, as it saves them the hassle of having to visit the commander for UCMJ action.
Hey DrTorch, not to change the subject, but I'm going to be moving to that area.... I'll be working in Bethesda, but would rather live in VA than MD....

I figured somewhere in Fairfax County would be perfect for me, and have been looking at the apartment guides... any recommendations on what areas I should be looking at and what areas I should avoid?

Thanks!

Bethesda is nice, not much different than Fairfax or Arlington Counties. If you want an urban environment

If you live in Fairfax County, you'll suffer w/ traffic on the commute. I-66 is a nightmare for a commute, but your alternative is the Toll Road.

You can take the Metro, but it's a long ride.

Arlington County might be a good compromise. It's expensive, but so is Bethesda. You shorten Metro time considerably.

No place in Fairfax or Arlington comes to mind as "must avoid". There are pockets of bad and pockets of really good.

I personally don't like Montgomery County (MD, Bethesda's county) outside of the beltway. Hard to explain why, but sort of disproportionate crime and such. So, I wouldn't recommend Rockville, Gaithersburg, Poolesville, etc. Anything else and you get bad traffic + higher taxes.

If you have any specific locales in mind, drop me a line, and I'll give you any info I might have.

There is a difference, Foley tried to have gay sex with an underage boy while the other one is the writing in a FICTIONAL book over 20 years ago.

See for yourself. Granted, its CNN.
