Video kind of catchy and I saw her features on of those 5 minute MTV you hear it first deals.

IMO she has good flow and from I gather she has been around a while..this is just her major label debut.
She definately has a catchy style.
What's up with British rap? From what I've heard, I seem to like it better than most of the stuff coming out over here. Lady Soveign, Dizzee Rascle and that other guy that sings about camera phones all have a similair catchy style.

You know, ever sine MTV cancelled Yo! MTV Raps a while back you never hear about any foreign MCs anymore. Remember when Fab 5 Freedy went over to France and chatted with MC Solar (I beleive that's right) and I beleive they covered some MCs in England as well.
I never really watched that show.
Subterrainian on MTV2 Sunday nights throws in a few British rap tunes every-now-and-then. That's where I heard that guy with the song about camera phones...I also think it's where I heard about Lady Sovreign for the first time. They interviewed her at SXSW, but only played a quick clip of her music. The record was supposed to be secret at that point or something. They used to play a Dizze Rascle video too. The one where he's super tiny.
i didn't listen to her single. it's hard for me to listen to female rappers, but i've heard good things. i'm pretty sure she's a recent defjam signee.

I have only ever heard two female MCs that I thought were worth a damn... MC Lyte and Queen Latifah.

I'll give you Lauryin Hill but she is a two sport star... singing and rapping. When she raps she is pretty decent but she sings most of the time.
Never cared for Foxxy OR Lil Kim OR.....

The only British rapper I know of is the Streets. He (Mike Skinner) is pretty sweet. Loved his first album Original Pirate Material better than A Grand don't Come Free. Haven't heard his new album, but I think this is the dude you're thnking of.

Yea, I was thinking the same thing. I dont remember a song about camera phones, but he seems like the type who would rap about it ;-) (his style isnt so much rapping as it is talking quickly)
That might be the dude. The song about the camera phones is pretty funny. It's all about how, as a celebrity, he can't just hook up with random girls now because everyone has a camera phone.
