I don't see why he'd wanna go to the Cubs. There's no hope. I was under the impression he wanted to win now.

but it creates as many questions as it answers. One that comes to mind is, where is girardi going? There's only 4 spots open: nationals, giants, rangers and the A's (since Macha was surprisingly fired today). Beane is the only GM i know of, who thinks managers are unnecessary. I think he's starting to believe in moneyball a little too much.

I'm starting to think Girardi's personality is turning off a lot of teams. I mean, here's a guy who in his first season as a manager took a team that everyone expected to lose 100 games and had them in playoff contention up until the final week of the season. You'd think teams would be jumping all over him. Gotta be something going on behind the scenes.
Anyway, best thing about this move is that it gets Sweet Lou out of the broadcasting booth. Won't make the Cubs much better.
Bochy talks to Giants
Apparently, the Giants are at the top of Bochy's list. If we can't have girardi, i'd like bochy. i've always thought he was a heck of a manager.
Ouch, Bochy possibly leaving the NL West champions for a division rival that finished sub-.500? That can't sit too well with Padre fan.
