I personally feel that any game which can't be decided in triple-OT should be declared a tie. Except maybe a conference championship game. Thoughts?
7 overtimes and the final score is 25-22. Talk about inept offenses.
no game of any sport at any level should ever end in a tie.

why not?

why not?

because you play to win, not to tie. that's the whole point of sports. it determines who the better team is.

This is college football. Its not about winning, its about kissing ass.

And sometimes there is no better team.

kissing whose ass? that's kinda weird.
The polling media and coach's. Its all about image.
Fanatical Wrote:The polling media and coach's. Its all about image.

wow, that says a lot about college football. the object of the game is to impress the media. wow, that's really sad.
yes it is sad; that is why the NCAA has never recognized a D1-A champion.

exactly.

the reason why the NCAA doesnt recongize a D-IA champion is because there is no champion. champions are decided on the field of play.

a tie is both teams losing. if you cant win-then why play? (Yes soccer, I am talking to you!)
Soccer has a system in place to produce a winner in each game. If they choose to use it. O/T sessions and the pk's.

yeah but if they are still tied after both its a tie.

That's not an answer.

Play to win, I have no problem with that. But, if the rules say a game lasts 60 minutes, and it's a tie after 60 minutes...gave over.

There is nothing inappropriate about it.

Besides, who wants to see a bunch of little leaguers go 17 innings? That's teaching them a stupid lesson about priorities.
i want to see the major leaguers go 25 innings. thats what they get paid to do. ;-)

can i say the rules are stupid? Games are played to decide the winner and loser.

oh, and i'm sure little leaguers would love to play 17 innings, even if you don't want them to.
swoosh they'd love to.

And occaisonally there aren't any. It's reality. Deal with it.

Even if that is true, (and I don't think kids pitching that much is healthy) it's irrelevant.

i know, i was being serious. i'm not that far removed from my little league years. i would've loved to play 17 innings.
do you guys honestly not have a problem with seeing your team tie?

college football there is a winner, in basketball there is a winner, in hockey there is a winner. so watch those sissy "sports" that dont have winners if you want to-I will stick to real sports. hell there are winner in pro bowling and pool and even poker.

College football did fine for 125 years w/o a tie-breaker. It's gone downhill with the tie-breaker.
flyingswoosh Wrote:do you guys honestly not have a problem with seeing your team tie?

Not in a regular season game.

It's a proven fact that men with small penises demand tie-breakers.
Torch with the game winner.
