New Pharell cd:
He has some nice beats and I will give him that, but when he tries to rap/sing is when I stop liking the tune(s). SO basically I would give this a 4 * if it was an instrumental albumn but since he wants to rap and sing its a 2* cd.
New Remy Ma cd:
I call this stripper rap. And while she has a few nice beats/songs....the overall cd is garbage..you cannot have a good/great cd on 2 songs. Some folks might like it but I DO NOT!!! 2*.
A guy at work let me borrow these as trade for my Tribe cds. He definatley got hte better end of the deal.... I didn't even bother ripping them to my hardrive. But the other two he let me borrow, the new DMX and Lupe Fiasco seem to be pretty good so far... still listening to them so my full review will be forthcoming.
so what's your word on lupe's album.

some of my opinions on this cd.
Not too bad... not great...not bad either...
Some Points
I'd say he is a descendant of the late 80s early 90s backpack rappers (aka ATCQ, De La Soul, et all ).
Finally a rapper not afraid to mix in some rock beats to his music. Also has some NICE r&b, soul, jazz, and 70s funk rock beats too. Finally someone using some different music and making good use of it.
Pretty good lyricist.
So far I must say TRACK #17 is the best RAP song I have heard in a while... and LOVE THE UNIQUE BEAT.
other tracks that caught my fancy are Real, He Say She Say, American Terrorist, Track # 19 is NICE on the lyrics and beat (best use of a few words to tell a rap since ATCQs "Rock Rock Yall ".
17, 18 and 19 are bonus tracks that are only available on the best buy version. they are called "what it do", "carrerra Lu" and "tilted."
You didn't like emperor's soundtrack, daydreamin or the cool? those are my 3 favorite tracks.

They are not too bad Swoosh, the three you mentioned, I'd say they'd be by 2nd tier favorites.... not big on The Cool though...

IN that order?
i'm not sure. i already had those songs so i didn't get the best buy version. but it's pretty easy to figure out. What it Do, is the one where he talks about buying the cd, which told him to buy the dvd and so on. Carrerra Lu is the one where he starts out muttering really fast and then he says "one for the money, two for the bass..." And Tilted is the one where he says "tilted, brim low..."

Gracias!!
Tilted and What It Do then for #17 and #19
when i mentioned those 3 songs, i forgot my favorite one on the whole album: hurt me soul. the lyrics in that song are just mindblowing.
The one thing lupe does poorly is, breath control. He gasps for breath on every song.

... and he doesn't even rap that fast!!! Only a few guys that I have heard can rap fast and still be understandable: Busta Rhymes, Twista, and Mystikal.
