Thoughts on Audioslave before actual review:
THey have the former lead singer form Soundgarden, Chris Cornell, and the band that was in Rage Against the Machine. I loved RATM and thought Soundgarden was ok... depending soley on the song -- I have all the RATM cds and I had Superunkown and HAVE Greatest Hits from Soundgarden. When these guys fuse their talents together you get something less moody than your typical Soundgarden and less aggressive both musically and politically than you average RATM song. Their sound I'd say is early 90s alternative w/ a 70s classic rock/funk type sound.
I have all three Audioslave cds, ", Out of Exile, and Revelations, and they have put forth three solid efforts in a row.
Now onto Revelations specifically
THe band billed this as Led Zepplin meets Earth, Wind, and Fire http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1527383...tory.jhtml --I wouldn't go that far but it qyuite a bit more "funky" than their previous two... and more "70s rock" than those as well.
IMO the standout tracks are: One in the Same, Original Fire, Shape of Things to Come, Nothing Left to Say But Goodbye, and Moth.
It is buyable worthy and I think if you are new to Audioslave you could get into them on this cd
3.5/5*s
Speaking of wich.... do you guys like track by track reviews or overall cd reviews? My Luda review I did track by track... the review of this cd is more of on a overall scale.
