It seems that recently, the floor of the UN has become a place to bash the US for any and all reasons.
Does the UN actually do any good for anyone? Why should we allow them to continue on our soil?
Good question. They would shut down without our support.
Recently?
It has always been anti-US.
But it does sometimes provide us with an alternative way to enforce our policies. E.g., UN sanctions against (fill in the blank here) or a peacekeeping force stationed in (fill in place here) in lieu of american troops, or american troops under the UN flag - South Korea.
Bush just spoke yesterday.

You are wrong, I am a lamer!
Allow me to be the first to voice a shocked (really, honestly) "HOLY CRAP" at some of the democratic reaction to Chavez.
The Drudge Report front page Wrote:RANGEL: AN ATTACK ON BUSH IS AN ATTACK ON ALL AMERICANS... 'You do not come into my country, my congressional district, and you do not condemn my president. If there is any criticism of President Bush, it should be restricted to Americans, whether they voted for him or not. I just want to make it abundantly clear to Hugo Chavez or any other president, but do not come to the United States and think because we have problems with our president that any foreigner can come to our country and not think that Americans do not feel offended when you offend our Chief of State'.
Nancy Pelosi Wrote:"Hugo Chavez fancies himself a modern day Simon Bolivar but all he is an everyday thug," House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi said at a news conference, referring to Chavez' comments in a U.N. General Assembly speech on Wednesday.
"Hugo Chavez abused the privilege that he had, speaking at the United Nations," said Pelosi, a frequent Bush critic. "He demeaned himself and he demeaned Venezuela."
I did not anticipate that kind of response from the left.

Total shock on my part! If I was making a list of democrats that might come to Bush's aid, those two would be pretty close to last on the list.
Today Chavez is speaking at a Harlem Church. I doubt that he forced his way in. Why would any church invite Chavez to speak? He is reiterating his "devil" comments.

Gracious man, it's Rangel. He's one of the guys that thinks "W" flew the planes into The World Trade Center personally.
So noted. My questions still stand.
Closed because people apparently do not wish to discuss the topic, but rather just attack each other.
