I don't have a problem with eVoting machines, but there needs to be a paper trail. Nice white hat work, Princeton.
I have volunteered at enough polling stations in poor neighborhoods over the years to have seen people voting twice all over the place. I am all for new technology, voter I.D. cards or piss tests, whatever it takes to make elections more legitimate.
I wouldn't say less than 1 minute...it took alot of prep time and research to accomplish this.

But, I agree on having a paper trail. It's a simple thing really:

The voting maching spits out ONE copy of your votes. You review it, and confirm the accuracy. Then you drop them in a locked bin. The bin is then available for a hand count should a controversy arise.

Why not a receipt to take home? Because it's a secret ballot, and it's not hard to believe that Union Leaders or Corrupt Company owners, or other unscrupulous people would demand your receipt in order to get paid or keep your job.
These receipts could also be forged, and add to the confusion should a hand count be needed.

Is this really so hard to figure out?
