After winning a crazy series at their place, the fish fell back a little bit. The Marlins have a scary starting pitching , but the rest of the team is just two young. making 3 errors in the 11th last night and losing a three run lead by their bullpen, the fish have some glaring wholes. I kinda glad that the mets dont have a to play them in the playoffs, if that starting pitching could put out some complete games
and the mets host the fish on a 4 games series next week
i guess i proved my point
4 out of 5 will kill any chances
mets beat the marlins last night without a starting position player
the marlins and giants kinda died.
speaking of the mets, look at david wright's power numbers since the break:
58 Games, 4 HR and 36 RBI. I wonder what the hell happened.

its the home run derby, power killer (abreu)

yeah, i see how it's hurt howard. how do you explain abreu's continued lack of power? i can understand the second half of last season, but what about his low power numbers for this season?
David Wright is overrated. It's the Derek Jeter love fest all over again.

yeah... i'm gonna have to disagree with you.
No doubt he is a good-great player but his power numbers aren't that great and the media pumps him up to be the next Brooks Robinson and Mike Schmidt put into one.

you recognize he's only 23 years old and this is his 2nd full season. he and miguel cabrera are both 23, but this is cabrera's 3rd full season. let's see what wright does next year.
BTW, what do you mean by a 'derek jeter love fest?' are you saying jeter is overrated?
I know Wrights and Cabrera's age.
I'm talking about the type of reaction he got after he made that backhanded flip against the A's in the playoffs a few years ago. Its the New York media. Same thing happened to Eli Manning. Do you realize that Manning's QB rating last year was mid 70's? BFD. Yet they were all over him with praise. This happens with all new york guys and it is happening with David Wright

completely disagree. They are all over Jeter 'cause he's won 4 championships. I don't think there's another position player in the game who can claim that, other than bernie williams, and jeter is a lot better than him. Jeter is an amazing player, with the highest baseball IQ of our era. As for Eli, he was not praised last year. He sucked in the second half of the year and the media was not praising him. Trust me, everyone was concerned that he wouldn't take the next step.
I agree with you to some extent by I have possess some level of unexplainable distain towards New York sports.
