The power numbers are suprising but this guy used to be a threat to bat .350 every year, he hasnt had a season over .300 in six years now. Its kind of weird that he doesnt hit for a higher average anymore. I know they are completely different hitters but Tony Gwynn still batted .330 into his early 40s. Edgar Martinez is a close comparison, his average dipped a little towards the end but he never had a couple .220 seasons like the big hurt.

but you have to remember that thomas had a lot more injuries than edgar. thomas is a special case.
