....who thought Fahrenheit 9/11 was so good are having a fit about the 9-11 TV movie. Seems it shows Clinton in a bad light. Can't have that, after all we have his word that it is untrue. He will swear on a Bible.
Except there are witnesses. It has been reported before.that he had the chance to get bib Laden, passed on it.
No importa.
Republicans may not have liked Fahrenheit 9/11, but I never heard George W. Bush send a letter demanding that it be taken out of movie theatres...

Dear Mr. Iger,
We write with serious concerns about the planned upcoming broadcast of The Path to 9/11 mini-series on September 10 and 11. Countless reports from experts on 9/11 who have viewed the program indicate numerous and serious inaccuracies that will undoubtedly serve to misinform the American people about the tragic events surrounding the terrible attacks of that day. Furthermore, the manner in which this program has been developed, funded, and advertised suggests a partisan bent unbecoming of a major company like Disney and a major and well respected news organization like ABC. We therefore urge you to cancel this broadcast to cease Disney
As someone who generally votes democrat I thought F 9/11 did more harm than good for the party in general. IF and that's a big IF, the makers of this drama on abc are intentionally slanting the movie to be an attack on Clinton they have not only a moral obligation to put forth the true story but a legal obligation considering the possibilites of slander and libel that can ensue.
F 9/11 was a Joseph Goerbel type propoganda piece and I think most rational folks saw it for what it is. FatBoy Michael Moore made millions and he still holds stock in Halliburton while slamming them. The guy is a world class hypocrite but hey he is making money.
The 9/11 docudrama should make better efforts to be accurate. There are plenty of examples that are factually accurate they could of used to point out the failures of the Clinton administration in the lead up to 9/11. They could of even gone back further to the failures of Bush I, Reagan and Carter in how they dealt with the rising tide of radical Islam and Bin Laden.
Bin Laden attacked the U.S. 9 months into the Clinton administration and he had 8yrs to take him out while he was an easier target. The Bush administration was in office 8 months prior to 9/11 and with the recount debacle was still trying to get its administration in place so while they bear some of the blame for 9/11 I would place more of it on the CIA and FBI.
Plenty of blame to go around. Here is a good book on the Clinton Administration and their role.

How quickly we forget conservatives getting up in arms about CBS' miniseries "The Regans" back in 2003 (which in turn was cancelled and moved over to Showtime)

I didn't forget a thing... but did President Bush, or any Republican Senators or Representatives write letters threatening CBS when they planned to run the show?
We have freedom of speech in this country. CBS is free to air their Reagan mini-series. ABC is free to air their 9/11 miniseries. I'm free to voice my displeasure to CBS. You're free to voice yours to ABC.
But, the first Amendment states "CONGRESS shall make no law .... abridging the freedom of speech." That's exactly what the Democratic leadership of the United States Senate is threatening here. Harry Reid, Dick Durbin, et al., are saying, "Don't run this movie, or your
free use of the public airwaves could be in jeopardy."
"CONGRESS shall make no law .... abridging the freedom of speech."
John Adams did. ;-)
I don't blame Clinton for not wanting a close inspection of his administrations handling of Al Qaeda before and after the first WTC bombing. They screwed up a lot and we let the guy go when he was an easier target. Just like the Bush administration screwed up just after 9/11 when OBL was an easier target in Afghanistan.
Plenty of blame to go around and way too many egos. President Clinton was one of the few people in America who knew exactly what was going on when he saw planes going into the WTC. It had to pain him somewhat to know his administration could of prevented it and for a man who cares about his legacy he will battle hard to protect that image.

Except that CBS uniequivocally said they were including fiction. That it was slander was not up for debate.
