Reds:

Homer Bailey-->I've never seen him pitch so I hope he gets in

Joey Votto-->1st basemen at double a
BTW GDawgs, whats up with Saltamachia, he has been awful this year? Not a good year for the Braves orginization all around.

No kidding, he's been terrible this year. Might have been too much pressure put on him this spring. Some were calling for him to make the opening day roster. Obviously that was absurd. My hope is he'll move to first and be ready for the majors by 2008.

Yunel Escobar (SS) is our only guy in the Futures Game.
Astros

On the subject of futures game players, Homer Bailey threw a 6 inning no hitter in his 2nd start in double a. He has thrown 12 innings of no runs ball with 13 k's and 2 walks in double a.

Damn, it seems like he throws a no-hitter every other start. I know they're not technically no-hitters since they aren't nine innings, but still.

I am starting to come to my senses with him. I don't want Krivsky to rush him anymore. Leave him at double a the rest of the year and if he continues to dominate start him at triple a next year. Maybe give him a call up after the all star break next year. Heck, he would only be 21 at that point.

GDawgs, how is Andrus doing this year? I am very intrigued by him.
He's held his own down at Rome (low-A) which is pretty darn impressive for a 17-year old. He's got a shot to be in the majors before he turns twenty. He's hit well at all three of his stops so far.

Anyone need a shortstop? With Andrus, Yunel Escobar, Tony Pena Jr., and Luis Hernandez, we've got no shortage. Should be some nice trade bait.
I'm growing tired of Felipe Lopez. He is an awful fielder. Either he moves to second so phillips can play short or he can hit the road.

i'd be surprised if schuerholz isn't looking to trade renteria.

I'd hang on to him through 2007. Then trade him.

i heard the new ownership might not want to wait.
I haven't heard that but it wouldn't surprise me. I'm really worried about what's going to happen if and when the sale to Liberty Media is completed. People complained about Time Warner, and I confess I was one of them, but at least they kept our payroll in the top half of baseball and didn't meddle in baseball decisions. A lot of people couldn't wait for Time Warner to sell the team...but you have to be careful what you wish for.
