I'm ready to see Cena take care of business!

You know what...?
If that was it....IT WILL NOT WORK!!!!
The SmackDown crowd absolutely KILLED that show.
SmackDown fans have absolutely no idea what ECW is supposed to be about, and they showed that tonight.
A true ECW fan, and a WWE fan is a completely different animal. Sunday night, we saw John Cena get booed out of the building by legit ECW fans. Tonight, we saw him get cheered, and Rob Van Dam get booed, by WWE fans who were supposedly at an ECW show.
If they're serious about this ECW thing, they have GOT to separate the tapings from the SmackDown tapings, and put the ECW shows in front of ECW fans.
There wasn't a person in that building who even had a CLUE who the Sandman was...that was pathetic.
In this format....it absolutely, positively will not work.

A great show, a little dissapointing that it's not two hours long.
The Zombie? A lame gimmick and an Undertaker wannabe.
Sabu wins the battle royal (I was hoping he would) and will face John Cena at Vengence.
Does this mean Tazz will no longer comentate on Smackdown!?
and one more thing.......
GANGREL IS BACK!!!!!!!!! OH YES!!!!!!!!!

I don't think that was Gangrel.

It wasn't Gangrel. It was some guy they brought in, along with The Zombie, to appeal to the Sci-Fi general audience.
I agree; they really need to make these tapings separate. Otherwise, ECW will fail and fail miserably.

The vampire was Kevin Fertig, who had the VERY short lived gimmick of Mordecai when he was on SmackDown a couple years ago.

I just read where Paul Heyman was not pleased with this show at all. In fact, he, and the rest of ECW, considered it a total failure.

Rajah.com Wrote:Last night?s debut edition of ECW TV on the Sci Fi Network was written by Paul Heyman, but tweaked by WWE creative. If you thought that Heyman would have complete creative control of the brand, think again. Last night?s show was a Vince McMahon production and Heyman wrote the show to his expectations and visions.
People backstage are saying that Paul Heyman knew last night that the show was a wreck. Everyone within the ECW locker room felt the same way, everyone knew what a disappointment that the show was and considered it a complete failure.
The reason they aired the Tazz vs. Jerry ?The King? Lawler match from One Night Stand in its entirety is because they actually ran short and had to put it in to fill time. Cues were also missed during the battle royal, forcing the production team to fix mistakes they had before the taping aired tape delay.
WWE brought Steven DeAngelis in to do the ring announcing, however, when he arrived at the show they sent him home. As you saw last night, WWE chose to go with Justin Roberts instead. Although judging from last night?s show, DeAngelis was probably glad to not be a part of the garbage they tried to pass off as ECW.

True, but David Heath (Gangrel) has signed with WWE and is considered to be coming back to ECW to team with Fertig. From Heath's profile on Wikipedia:
"In June 2006 it has been reported that Heath has been approached by WWE officials to sign for the new ECW brand. David Heath accepted and signed with the WWE. While not official yet, it is assumed he will be on the ECW Brand and part of a vampire stable, something that the Sci-Fi network is rumored to have requested on the show."
I am surprised that Paul Heyman was dissapointed with the show. Perhaps we need more barb wire deathmatches on cable tv to boost ratings (if the censors allow it).

speaking of censors. Is it me or has cable stations gottenn worse then network tv with their censoring?
