Alright, so I'm gonna visit my dude down in Perrine, (sp) Fl sometime over the summer. Like, whens the best tiem to expericne a hurricane? I've always been jealous of those people who can claim "i've lived through a hurricane." I mean I bought a shirt at a thrift store saying "I survived the blizzard of '93." I think it'd be really cool to live through one.

last year, FL wasnt a good time, the year before they had 4 in a month. just hafta watch the weather channel or look at my threads


I lived thru Hurricane Fran in Durham in 98, and Hurricane Charley in Orlando in '04. that makes 2!

The only problem though, as I want to experience a hurricane, is that I love checking out big cities. And my buddy informed me that the bars will be shut down during hurricanes. I'd really like to do both.

there is a bar on the Outer Banks of NC that famously stays up during every hurricane-they have a hurricane party. I will found out what it is for you tomorrow

I live in Panama City, FL

We are watching this one but not overly concerned. It will bring a little rain and wind but they don't project it to become a hurricane due to the hostile gulf conditions. The air over the gulf is extremely dry.

If every storm was a tropical storm, I'd be a happy man.

This is nothing more than a strong rain shower.

Alberto is getting stronger-now 50 mph winds and predicted to gain strength

Alberto now at 70mph!!

This storm will pass Florida into the big blue, gain strength to a cat 2 and turn left hitting one of the east coastal states (probably VA or NC).

Let's see if I'm right ;-)

I've read this 3 times now and still don't understand what this is supposed to mean.

I'm assuming a student in Florida thinking nothing of the storm, and if the the power outages continue he's got a Nintendo DS. Oh yeah, also an avid lake enthusiast

first off. Univ. South Carolina student
1) power flashing, caused by thunderstorms. because our dorms are poorly built.,
2) UPS, universal Power supply, aka Big ass battery... keeps computer powered when lights go out
3) UPS only has 15min of power because it was cheap. so incase that fails i have my new DS lite. wo0

the lake = lake murry, thanks to local power company SCE&G water level is about 8ft bellow where it should be. aka, my dock is on dry land, and my boat is in storage :( their reasoning "their has been a drought"..
