He shouldn't be, he wasn't on the opening day roster. Put his name in the write-in slot.

There are a lot of good players that aren't on the ballot. For instance, I had to write-in for Alex Rios.

i think his high five thing against the giants was all in good fun, but i still think it was slightly uncalled for. i hope he learns that it's not ok.

oh please. that was all about lasting milledge. it had nothing to do with the fans. so your saying everytime he does something great, he should take a detour to the stands? the game needs to be played right and respectfully. he should've gotten a ball in his ear.

I thought it was in good taste. If you're not going to let him shake some hands on his way out to his position (and expect him to get thrown at in future at bats), then the next time someone comes out after a big home run for a "curtain call" you better expect him to get a concussion his next at bat.
He did nothing to disrupt the game, and only involved some more fans in the action. You're one of those guys that bitched about the "Lambeau Leap" aren't you? This is even more low key than that.

the curtain call is completely different. although those are way overdone, but that's another day. curtain call's are desired by the fans and the players simply oblige. what milledge did was not something that wasn't desired by the fans, he made the decision himself. i have no problem with him tipping his cap, but you don't deliberately run to the stands to show up the other team.
i actually have no problem with the lambeu leap, i mean it's history. but i do have a problem with TD celebrations like those done by TO, chad johnson, joe horn, etc. i like what tiki barber and barry sanders do/used to do after they scored.
i also don't like when players hit a bomb and stand there watching it. i like when they take off jogging right away. bonds, griffey, pujols, they all do it and it's despicable. they need to get a ball to the head.

sorry flying swoosh, T.O. Chad Johnson SELL
If we constantly want to hold baseball to a different standard while the other sports pass us by in rating. Im not asking to pull peanuts out of the conseesssion stands. Celeabation in good tatse is quite alright with me

they don't sell. their performances on the field sell. are you so naive as to think they would continue to sell if TO was only an average receiver?
pass us by in ratings? what's in your pipe? baseball has set attendance records for the past 2 seasons. the only sport that's passed us by is football. baseball is doing just fine. you're the kind of person who'd like to add cheerleaders to baseball. IMO, football should get rid of them.

Lastings Milledge: Shows Up Late for Thursday's Game
RotoWire.com Staff - RotoWire.com
Thursday, June 15, 2006
Update: The morning after Milledge was lectured by manager Willie Randolph for "spectating" on Wednesday night, he was the last Mets player to arrive in the clubhouse, rolling in at 11:55 -- exactly 70 minutes before the game's first pitch, the NY Newsday Mets Blog reports.
Recommendation: Milledge wasn't in Thursday's lineup - Eli Marrero was playing left - but Randolph said the switch was not for disciplinary reasons. Just a chance to get Marrero's "feet wet." Events like showing up late, not playing hard, high-fiving fans down the right field line during the game and the belief that he needs to work on some of the flaws in his game are just a few of the reasons why Milledge is expected to be optioned back to Triple-A Norfolk when Xavier Nady comes off the disabled list.
