Man, what a find this guy's been for the Braves. He's healthy for the first time in several years and is absolutely dominating hitters with that mid-90's fastball and devastating changeup. I can't believe Bobby Cox still stupidly uses Chris Reeksma as closer when we've got Ray who's been perfect when he's gotten a couple of save chances this year. Cox has to be the worst handler of a bullpen I've ever seen.

yeah, he has nice stuff, though his fastball is pretty straight. be wary of journeyman, don't judge till september.
He could fall apart or end up getting hurt again, but there's absolutely no reason he shouldn't be our closer right now.
We want Reitsma back. I might pass out if Rick White takes the hill again.

You DO NOT want Reitsma back. This guy's such a trainwreck right now. And to think, I was excited when we traded for him. Now I just wish we'd eat his salary and never be subjected to watching him pitch ever again. I've been tired of him for quite some time actually. Not just this year.

He's a good middle reliever. He IS NOT A CLOSER. I dont know what Bobby Cox is doing.
I don't even think he's a good middle reliever. He scared me to death when he would come in the 7th or 8th inning to hold a lead. Reitsma needs to be a long reliever or a 5th starter where he can work out of the jams he creates for himself.

If I remember correctly, he used to start for the Reds.
Yes he did. He started 29 games in 2001 and finished with a 7-15 record. Started 21 games in 2002, going 6-12 with a complete game shutout, and in 2003 he started 3 games, going 9-5 with 12 saves.
