Top prospect commits to UVa football

Virginia received a football commitment Monday from one of its top in-state recruiting targets, 6-foot-5, 335-pound Marshall Ausberry Jr. from West Springfield High School.
Ausberry's father, Marshall Sr., confirmed the commitment and said that his son also had offers from Virginia Tech and Marshall.
"He's a big, wide body, but he's very nimble," said West Springfield coach Bill Renner, noting that Ausberry weighed 375 as a freshman. "He starts at center for our basketball team and has a great touch. Remember Wes Unseld? He's like that.
"He moves his feet very well and has only gotten better. He's got athleticism off the page."
Ausberry, the third player to commit to Virginia, has a 3.2 grade-point average and scored 970 on the Scholastic Assessment Test.
