16 K's in seven innings against the Braves to set a San Diego record last night. Oh yeah, he still lost to John Smoltz 3-1.

I watched Ben Sheets rack up 18 K's against the Braves in 2004. I watched Randy Johnson throw a perfect game against the Braves the very next game. I have to say that Peavy looked more dominant than both of them. What a performance.

Stupid quote of the night from Karl Ravech on Baseball Tonight: "Peavy's not even known as a strikeout pitcher."
lmfao says who? he's a K pitcher to me.
peavy is inconsequential now that schmidt is back. our whole rotation is straight up filth. jamey wright more than outpitched mulder yesterday. jamey wright is the jam. he's thrown 63.1 innings and schmidt leads the league in IP/start. i bet the mets or yankees wouldn't mind having brad hennessey. he's been lights out in his last seven starts. too bad he doesn't have a spot in the rotation after cain's shutout.

marquis against morris tonight and carpenter vs. lowry tommorrow. we're gonna sweep the s*** outta the cards.
Enjoy Wright's good pitching while it lasts, because it won't last much longer. He's a fifth starter. Nothing more, nothing less. The good thing for the Giants is they're counting on him since they have Hennessey to fall back on.

I do like your rotation, but Matt Morris needs to get it together. Cain was amazing the other night, but he's still a pup. You never know what you're getting out of him on any given start. If he and Morris can both pitch like they can, the Giants will easily win the NL West.
see, i think wright is a completely different pitcher than he used to be. he just looks amazing. and it's not like the league has never seen him. as for morris, i think he's starting to get it back together. Something happened to him when he got tossed in the 1st against the rockies and then started on 3 days rest. i'm not usre what it is, but he's a veteran and never should've let it happened. i agree with cain. he still has big command issues that he needs to work out. but like you said, hennessey can always step in.
