In an effort to get a better pulse going around here, (and it has gotten a lot better lately) let's start a weekly Monday Night Raw thread. Discuss what happened on tonight's show, what direction you think things are going, what you liked, what you didn't, etc...
I'll start..
They're starting things off with a bang tonight. Triple H v. John Cena for the WWE title will open up the show.
Cena will retain the belt once again before getting ready for Rob Van Dam at ECW One Night Stand '06. Somehow, we'll also see the seeds continue to be planted for the much-teased DX reunion with HHH and Shawn Michaels.
I know it's kinda cheesy, but this whole May 19th thing with Kane has me intrigued. We should see the payoff on whatever this turns out to be pretty soon, since the 19th is this coming Friday. As for the See No Evil movie, looks like a pretty cool slasher type. Could Jacob Goodnight become the next franchised slasher, ala Jason and Freddy....?
I like this tradition.
I think the Spirit Squad is going to come in and interfere in the HHH-Cena match, and that's going to lead more into the return of D-X.
For what it's worth, here's the new poster for WWE Vengeance:

My thoughts:
May 19 might be the date of the fire that killed Kane's parents as a child or he may be angry that it's the same date the Da Vinci code movie is released as his film, which pisses him off.
Triple H will team up eventualy with Shawn Michaels and possibly John Cena to combat the Spirit Squad, Vince and Shane, but will gain their trust so much that he will eventualy betray them as a set up by Vince and Shane the whole time. Since Triple H is part of Vince's family.
I would like to officially go on record as saying that I abhor the Spirit Squad; they're great wrestlers, but they're an annoying gimmick.
That is all.
Thoughts so far...
Well, nobody certainly saw a Texas Tornado match coming. Not much of note there besides RVD losing the IC belt. Shelton Benjamin is perfect for that title, and he needs to hold onto it for a LONG time.
RVD losing that belt is just another step towards him cashing in his WWE title shot at ECW One Night Stand against Cena.
Spirit Squad is fairly entertaining, but the match against Goldust and Snitsky was nothing worth mentioning.
I can't wait to hear what Foley has to say..
Ut-oh...this sounds like the return of the Invasion storyline.
For those who don't know what I mean, you can find an article about it
here.
You ever see one of those segments that just make you go

?
THAT PROMO WAS ABSOLUTE GOLD!!!!
Mick Foley and Terry Funk can tear it up like NOBODY else.
THAT'S why I love wrestling, right there!!!

And they follow up something that great.....with Eugene and Matt Stryker...
Well, I guess they didn't want to keep the crowd too hot for too long.

I must agree; I'm kinda sick of the whole Eugene-Striker feud.
Hell; I'm sick of Eugene and Striker, period. They both need to be put on Heat. That way, you won't know they're performing unless you're watching online.
I missed whatever it was Vince just said to HHH in the back, but I wonder what role Hunter will play in the HBK/Kenny match..?

You didn't miss much; Vince was basically reminding HHH to return the favor. Then, you saw the sledgehammer.
Personally, I see Shane about to get clobbered with said sledgehammer.
And, I'm sick of Umaga.

Team Umaga back up with Rosie, repackaging 3 Minute Warning as a 21st century Islanders type tag team, and we'd have something. They could always use more tag teams.
Yeah, but that would be too much like right; we all know how Vince deals with stuff that could be right.
I gotta say, I wish Hunter would make up his friggin' mind which Motorhead theme song he wants to use.
Well, that was a cool little cliffhanger ending.
I thought for sure after Hunter's little "it was an accident" act, he'd go to the top of the ramp and do a DX crotch chop. But they're still building up slowly towards that.
Pretty good show this week. Funk and Foley was EASILY the highlight.
I'll agree; I was quite entertained by this one. I'm kinda curious to see what's going to happen to HHH after "inadvertently" decking Shane (which I called, by the way).
You know what's going to happen. Mcmahon is going to demand that Hunter destroy Michaels. They will have a match in which McMahon tries to stack the offs in Hunter's favor (I see the spirit squad or Shane O-Mac involved). Hunter and Michaels match is clean then due to outside interferecne Hunter and Michaels end up fighting together and then the return of DX.......
