To me the WWE f-ed up a good thing when they became popular. The regional wresting associations were the best.

My favorite association was Mid South (where I used to watch good ole JR and Cowboy Bill Watts).

My favorite wrestler was the Junk Yard Dog. JYD was the man with his "barrel" shaped chest. He used to have some excellent battles back in the day. Some of my favorite JYD foes were Hacksaw Jim Duggan (Hoe!), Hacksaw Butch Reed, The Free Birds (I remember when the blinded him with their hair removal cream), and King Kong Bundy just to name a few.

I was a Memphis kid growing up in the 80's, and if you lived around here during the 70s, 80s, and early 90s, you were a fan of Jerry "The King" Lawler. You'd never know it from his WWE persona, but Lawler was a hard-nosed sonofagun who took no crap from ANYBODY.
