Since it appears this may be an excrutiating season for the Braves and I don't want to start a new thread ranting about them every night, I'll use this thread as a neat, compact area for my venting on my sorry team. You can use it to if you ever feel the need to chew on the ass of your team.

SCREW YOU, BRAVES!
I'm hoping the Astros are not deciding to go into a "we cannot hit the broad side of a brick wall" mode they seem to love to do every year for a month or so.

We feel your pain. It seems like the Braves go through a stretch like that every year, too. We can't buy a run right now. Not surprising when you have the brainless wonder Terry Pendelton as your hitting coach. We're going through a nasty spell right now, and it's killing me to watch. So much dominant pitching going to waste.

F#%& YOU BRAVES!!!!! F@!# YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!
**** the Reds!!!. They lose a game 7-1 last night in which they gave up 1 earned run. All 6 unearned runs (plus the earned run) came in the 2nd inning.

So 1 bad games out of 30 + and your cursing your team?!? I figured with the way the Reds ahve played the last couple of years, people would give just about anything to have a start like this, including ONE GAME, where they give up 6 unearned runs...

They've had hot starts like this recently, in 02 and 04, only to fade out in the summer. While it's nice to see the fast start, it's still frustrating to watch when the team beats itself with multiple bonehead plays.

Why can't the Astros win on the road? 03-hissyfit

because they aren't that good. but i guess not everyone can have our sick rotation. if cain is back, then our rotation is the best in the league. we have 6 starters.

I would go ballistic on the Braves, but I'm at a loss for words. Just speechless over how bad this team is.
the giants still suck, but our bullpen is shaping up to be amazing, which is pretty cool. i mean benitez still sucks, but accardo is pitching out of his mind, bringing the heat at 95, wilson is nasty and also throws 95. plus we just brought up our closer from AA, jonathan sanchez who has a ferocious slider. if this team would unload alou at the deadline and get some prospects it could rebuild. 2 things need to happen in order for us to rebuild quickly:
1) we must resign Schmidt, or trade him for a package of prospects
2) trade some veterans at the deadline and try to get some prospects

yeah, i guess things aren't going as planned in cleveland, are they? lee's been trash and victor's power numbers are nonexistent.

A couple good games = excitement in Atlanta.

Soon overshadowed by terrible losses at home to teams like Arizona..
A team is no better than it's owner is at managing it.

The Braves owner is AOL.

.... ouch ....

And the new ownership probably is only going to be worse.

Braves lose again tonight and are now 1-7 on their current homestand.

I could rip the team, but that speaks for itself.
I officially declare, on June 9th, 2006, the Braves run of division titles dead. Done. History. Finished. Gone. Bye-bye.
Reds had won 8 in a row but they lost last night. Were down 1 in the bottom of the ninth with the bases loaded and NO ONE out and they cant get the tying run across. Add that on to the 2 run double on a easy fly that Kearns slipped trying to get and the Reds should have won.

That was a tough loss and inexcusable not to win the game with the bases loaded and none out down only by a run, but I wouldn't hate on the Reds. They're entitled to a loss like that the way they've played. I thought early on that this was going to be 2004 all over again. They get off to a blazing start then fade into oblivion by the All-Star Break, but I think the Reds are a serious playoff contender. With Pujols out for a while, the door's open for the Reds to be in this division race all year long if they can open up a few games of seperation.

isn't it funny that out of the 4 big fans' teams on this forum, the giants and braves are terrible and the reds and mets are good/great.
I will throw in my Astros who are not terrible, but haven't been playing that great lately

sorry, i didn't include, but i can probably speak for everyone when i say you should post a little more often.

Reds beat Jeremy Sowers in his major league debut (he was first drafted by the reds in the first round but didn't sign) the day after getting shut out by Paul Byrd of all people.

Royals up next, if the Reds dont sweep them I'm going to go ballistic.
Yeah that is true
Shut out yet again while Clemens pitches. This is driving me crazy.
We lost to the Royals. Nuff said.
you know what's kinda funny? i just looked at the NL standings and apparently my shi**y giants have the 5th best record in the league. how pathetic and somewhat humorous is that?
F*ck Jerry Narron. Bases loaded one out in the 7th inning, 2-2 game. Edwin Encarnacion is coming up to the plate. He has been the Red's best hitter for the past 2 weeks (when he has been in the lineup). The Mets bring in the mighty Chad Bradford. And Narrong f*cking pinch hits for Encarnacion with Hatteberg, who promptly strikes out. Reds lose in 10.
damn, cain was filthy all night, he got 2 outs in the 9th and then gave up a hit and a 2 run homer. we won 7-2, but i was hoping for a shutout.

IMO I think Homer can be better than Cain, his ceiling is incredible. but the chance of him actually hitting that ceiling is probaly 1%. I haven't seen Cain this year, how's he looking? He's just 21 right? September birthday?

cain is like a lot of rookie phenoms, inconsistent. he'll look amazing like tonight and then go 4 innings and give up 5.

The Astros need a major overhaul offense wise because this is just sad.
Berkman wasn't in there tonight and Ensberg is hurt. What can you expect when that happens and Harang is on the hill. Harang is one of the best pitchers in the majors.

Yes, he is. He's a horse, too. I was at a game he was pitching a couple of weeks ago in Atlanta, and he threw about 150 pitches. Don't see that much any more.

I was pissed when he did that, granted we didn't have a reliable bullpen at the time. Bray and Guardado have been fantastic.

Yes they were missing Berkman and Harang has been pitching well but it is more than that.

This team has been shutout 8 times this season. They seem to excel in stranding runners on base. There is little to no clutch hitting and I have not seen a come from behind win in the late innings except for maybe 2-3 times all season. This team has not had a walk off anything all year.

The way the team is now they will not make the playoffs unless for some reason everything clicks for the last 2 months of the season and they go on tear like the previous 2 seasons. I do not see that happening for a 3rd year in a row.

it was 135.

for all those who care, hillenbrand has played 7 games for the giants and has no HR's and no RBI. what a great pickup.

I know how you feel. Gary Majewski has an ERA over 11 with the Reds.

Narron is a dumshit. I hope his ass gets fired. Down 1 with a runner on second with 1 out and you let Juan Castro hit when you have Edwin Encarnacion and David Ross on the bench. What a ******* idiot. Of course Castro strikes out and the Reds lose.

yeah, but at least he got bray as well, who's pitching great.

F*** the f***ing Braves! Bottom of the ninth, bases loaded, no outs, down 5-4 with McCann and Francoeur coming up, and not only do we not take the lead, we don't even tie! And against the team we're chasing in the wild card race no less!

03-weeping
Hey, I'm just glad we got a hit, much less a win. Whew 03-melodramatic

**** you Jerry Narron! Why did you put Majewski in and why do you EVER start Rich over Edwin???

dumbass.
Reds are shut out by Carpenter. Bottom of the order is..... 7. Royce Clayton 8. Jason Larue. No wonder.
