This guy has to be the most underrated pitcher in baseball. Absolutely disgusting stuff. All he does is go out and pitch seven or eight great innings every start and strike out an arse-load of batters. He was absolutely devastating against the Braves tonight before hitting a wall in the 8th. I don't think I've ever seen the kid pitch a bad, or even mediocre, game.

In other news, Bobby Cox is (still) absolutely brain-dead at handling bullpens. Just needed to say that.
you think the d-backs throw up everytime they watch him?

meanwhile, i told you soriano wouldn't have a problem in RFK.

No, he's not having any trouble so far, but damn, how do you leave three fastballs over the inner half of the plate to that MF'er? I swear, as soon as I saw McCann set up on the inner half of the plate before his second homer, I yelled, "Don't throw him a fastball or he'll hit it out!" What does he do? Yep, hits it out. Come on, Smoltz, you've been in the bigs for 20 years, you know better than to throw that pitch. And then for Villarreal to throw him another one? Argh...

But yeah, how did the D-Backs let an arm like that get away? Look at all that garbage they've got in the rotation. They're sho nuff kicking themselves for not hanging on to Patterson.

at least you don't have armando benitez coming in with the bases loaded and one out in coors field to try and close the game. L O L, we suck ballz. it's become comical. everyday my dad and i share our mutual wish that the next day we'll wake up and brian sabean will have blown up the team and used all the prospects.
Dude, I'd rather have Benitez as our closer than Reeksma. That's sad.

Damn this game will drive you nuts. It brings me nothing but angst. And yet I can't get enough of it. It's my drug.
nice double post ;-)

i have to beg to differ. benitez literally has nothing, at least reeksma has some stuff. remember one thing, at least you aren't paying reeksma
7 mil/year.

I guess it's a "grass is greener on the other side" thing. Players on other teams don't look so bad until they're blowing games for you. You're right, I probably would quickly develop a hate Benitez if he were a Brave. But anything seems better than Christina Reeksma.
yeah, it's safe to say our teams have problems.

I have come to the conclusion that the entire National League is a joke. I'm afraid we're playing for second yet again.

i would be surprised if the WS wasn't the white sox vs. cardinals.
