- I have XGL working on my desktop so people can take a look at that
- If somebody has a small TV antenna with a coax output ... I believe MythTV will work with that if people think it'd be interesting to have some TV at the affair
- I have sent a few rough drafts of the constitution to the student gov't person I spoke with... I have yet to send her a revision she thinks will definitely get a green light... so needless to say this makes wired internet for students not much of an option. I can test to see if I can rig my desktop to serve as the "input" of the router and then ultimately use my wireless connection out if this really becomes a problem.
- I sat outside the faculty lounge with my laptop. I was unable to hit (or even come close to hitting) the student's wireless AP at Whaley's Mill 4th floor. However, just on the other side of the building is an open Ad Hoc network (oddly enough) ... as well as two open APs without a SSID... and a linksys AP that kismet classified as "factory default settings" (wuh oh!). So, the only method for non-students to get legit net access -- our student's AP on the 4th floor of Whaley's -- isn't an option (unless somebody has a wireless repeater.... it would only take one to bridge the two places). I did also pick up multiple COEIT APs and USC student APs -- so any student with a wireless NIC should be good to go
