I will post a buttload of trivia on this thread at random throughout the day. Each member from each team has ONE GUESS at each answer... no more. Each correct guess is worth one point. The team with the most points per person* wins.

Trivia ends at 11:59 PM Eastern today.

* For example... if team A had 3 people and got 6 points ... but team B had 6 people and 9 points ... team A would win b/c they'd have 2 points per person, compared to team B's 1.5 points per person.
1) In what year will UNIX machines suffer their own form of the Y2K bug?

2) If I push a 5 kg box on a frictionless floor with a force of 3 N until it has traveled 10 meters... then push it with a force of - 3 N until I am back where I started.... how much work have I done upon the box?

3) What is Moore's Law?

4) If it takes a power of 2P to life an elevator a distance d at velocity v... how much power is needed to life an elevator 2d at v^2

5) What is the derivative of e^x ?
#3 Moore's Law is: the number of transistors per square inch on integrated circuits had doubled every year since the integrated circuit was invented. Moore predicted that this trend would continue for the foreseeable future. In subsequent years, the pace slowed down a bit, but data density has doubled approximately every 18 months, and this is the current definition of Moore's Law, which Moore himself has blessed. Most experts, including Moore himself, expect Moore's Law to hold for at least another two decades.
5) derivative of e^x is e^x
Answers:

1) 2038
2) 0 J
4) 4P
4) Square root of P

work upon request...
