Can Jimmy Rollins catch DiMaggio? I don't think he can. It would be unfathomable to have a 36 game hit streak to end one season, and then come back months later and put together a 20 game hit streak.

it's nearly impossible. IMO, that record is one that will never be broken.

Several years ago, I believe Bobby Bonillia ended the season with a 20+ game hit streak, I dont remember how long he lasted into the next season but needless to say he didnt come close to 56.
